It was currently six something in the morning. I had just gotten out of the shower. I was leaned up against the sink as I stared at my reflection in the mirror. Small droplets of water fell from my hair, some of them falling onto my face, slowly tracing the features of my face until it reached my bruised chin.

I couldn't take my eyes off of the bruises. They were the perfect purple outlines of her manicured fingers. Surprisingly, I didn't have any cuts from where her nails had dug into me.

"Hurry up in there, Casyn, or you're going to be late for school," my mother said as she banged on the locked bathroom door.

"I'll be out in a minute," I yelled out as I grabbed a towel, quickly drying myself off, before I started to get dressed.

"You better, because if you miss that bus, I'm not taking your ass to school. You're going to be walking your ass to school, you hear me?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"Good, now hurry up," she said, walking away from the door.

I opened the medicine cabinet, pulling out the first aid kit before limping over to the toilet. I closed the lid before taking a seat. I opened the first aid kit, grabbing the material I needed before getting to work on wrapping my foot.

After I was fully done dressing my wounds, I put everything back in the container before putting it back into the medicine cabinet. I made my way back over to the sink, plugging in the hair dryer, giving it a once over. It was way too cold today to be going out with wet hair.

Once I was done, I placed the hair dryer back in its original pace before slipping on my beanie. I unlocked the door, walking out into the hallway before I made my way to the staircase.

I was halfway down the staircase when I could hear my mother's voice from the living room.

"Took you long enough."

"Sorry," I mumbled out.

I walked over to the door, grabbing my boots as I pulled them on. I picked up my backpack, pulling it over my shoulders.

"I'm leaving," I called out, as I walked over to the front door, opening it and stepping out onto the porch.

I quickly shut the door, not wanting to hear her voice. I had heard enough of her bitching last night. I wasn't in the mood to hear anymore.

I pulled my jacket closer to my body, hoping to block out the freezing air. I wish I could just stay in my room all day, doing nothing but sleeping. I sadly can't though, I have to go to school, or as I like to refer to it as hell.

It's bad enough I have to deal with my mom's shit while I'm at home, but there's this guy at school who is just fucking relentless. I don't know what I have done to him. Maybe I did something to him in a past life or something.

All I know is that he just won't leave me alone. Anytime he can get me alone, he beats the shit out of me or threatens me. For a while, I just wasn't going to school at all. I was skipping every day at one point. That was until the school notified my mother of the fact that I had missed several days of school.

After the beating I got from my mother that night, well, let's just say I didn't skip school anymore. Even though I desperately wanted to. I couldn't help but to groan out in annoyance as I watched the bus get closer to my driveway until it was right in front of me.

"Here we go," I mumbled out as the doors to the bus opened.

"Morning Casyn," Mr. Jerry said as I walked up the steps to the bus.

"Morning, Mr. Jerry," I said as I made my way to one of the empty seats.

Mr. Jerry has been my regular bus driver since I started school. He's been one of the few people to actually be nice to me. I was very appreciative of him. He might not really do anything, but that simple, friendly hello means a lot to me.

I sat down, staring out the window, as the bus began to move again. I tried my best to relax, but I could hear Azriel and his friends laughing at the back of the bus.

For a while, I was able to avoid him, but for some reason, he wasn't driving his car to school anymore. Probably to torment me even more, I thought, before I could feel someone sit next to me.

I didn't have to look to know who it was. I could tell just by the overwhelming smell of his cologne that he wears. That and I could see his reflection in the window.

"What, you're not going to at least say hi to me?" Azrael's deep voice asked.

"Why should I?"

The bus came to a stop as everyone on the bus got up, waiting to get off of the bus.

"I'll see you around," Azriel chuckled as he stood up, joining his friends as they exited the bus.

Once they were off, I stood from my seat, saying goodbye to Mr. Jerry as I stepped into the parking lot. Everyone was broken up into their little clicks, there were a few loners hanging around. I guess you could say I fell into that category.

I didn't have any friends, and the one friend I had, well, she moved off before we started highschool. So that left me alone. I didn't have anyone anymore. I was officially alone.

Sighing, I looked over to the spot that I used to take when I skipped school. I was very tempted to skip today, I hadn't done it in a while. One day wouldn't hurt, right?

The bell to the school rang out, signaling it was time for everyone here to get to their designated classes.

"Let's just get this fucking over with," I sighed out, as I made my way to the school entrance.

I just have to get through eight hours. Maybe today would be one of the better days.

"Where are you going?" Azriel said as he slung his arm over my shoulders, causing me to tense.

Well, there goes any hope I had. Was it too much to ask, for just one good day? I looked up at Azriel, his emerald eyes staring down at me with so much hatred.

"Just leave me alone," I said as I shrugged his arm off.

I managed to take a few steps forward before he grabbed the back of my jacket, slamming me against the lockers. The sound of my back coming into contact with the cool metal echoed throughout the now empty hallway.

He slammed his hands on either side of my head, trapping me in as he continued to stare down at me.

"I don't remember telling you that you could leave."

All I could do was stand there staring up at him. What could I do in this situation? If I said something wrong, then I risked pissing him off.

"What happened to your face?" He asked, throwing me off guard.

"W-What?" I asked.

"Your face dip shit. What happened to it?"

I stood there for a minute, feeling confused before my eyes widened in realization.

Oh shit.

I forgot to cover where she had grabbed me last night. I tried to duck under his arm, but he pushed me up against the lockers. Making sure I wasn't going anywhere.

"I didn't give you those bruises. So who did, hmm?" He asked.

"It's none of your damn business," I yelled out.

"Oh my. Why are we getting so defensive, hmm?"

"Just leave me alone."

"Why would I do that, Casyn? I'm having way too much fun playing with you."

Azriel moved away from me, giving me one last smirk before walking down the hall until he disappeared around the corner. I let out a shaky breath, my body trembling, as I used the lockers for support.

Why was he doing this to me?

Why?
