Lumax- Hospital

When Lucas came into the room, it was dead silence. He didn't want to wake Max up, because he knew she would have a hard time falling back asleep. He slowly tip-toed towards the mattress he had been using as a bed for the past week or so, and got under the covers.

He heard her shift around, and then stop. He could only hear her breathing. It kind of soothed him in a way. He had always loved Max, not only because she was beautiful, brave, strong, and kind, but she was also very comforting.

Max was that kind of person who would use sarcasm, and be completely bold, but he knew her, and he knew she could be the kindest person in this universe.

After thinking about all these things, accompanied by the sound of her breathing, he slowly drifted to sleep.

El- Hopper's cabin

El couldn't sleep. She'd been shifting around in her bed, trying to find a comfortable position to sleep, but between Hopper's snoring, Joyce's constant twisting and turning, and her own thoughts, it was really hard.

After a little while, she decided to step out of her bed, and go outside. She could really use the fresh air. Looking around in the dark, she tried to get out of her room without waking her parents up. As soon and she managed to close the door, and step in the living room, more snores could be heard from the couch. Murray. She remembered.

It took another minute or so to get out of the cabin, and as soon as she opened the front door, the cold breeze of the night came rushing in. She quickly closed the door behind her, and sat down on the bench of the front porch.

Her thoughts immediately came to mind. Where is Vecna? What is the future of Hawkins? Why does Max not remember anything? How can we help Max remember? Where can we find Vecna now? How can we get everything back together?

She sighed. It was just too much. Too much.

She needed a way to relax. She knew Will had art, Jonathan had photography, Dustin had science, Lucas had basketball, and Mike and Nancy had writing, but what did she have? What did Max have? Skateboarding. Maybe she could try skateboarding. Maybe somehow, this would bring her closer to her friend.

But where to find a skateboard? She supposed she could just take Max's. She's sure she wouldn't mind, and besides, Max wouldn't be using it anytime soon.

Slowly, she began the walk to the trailer park.

Lumax - Hospital Room

Slivers of the sun slipped through the curtains of the room like a thief, causing Lucas to wake up at the crack of dawn.

He slowly opened his eyes glancing over at Max who seemed to be awake, just staring at the ceiling. Lucas supposed it didn't make much of a difference to her anyway.

"Hey? Are you okay?" Lucas started

"Yeah, it's just... still weird to open my eyes and not see anything," Max responded. "You know how people say that losing a sense make your other senses stronger but honestly, everything still feels the same."

"Maybe your taste is heightened," he said, the edge of his mouth twisting into a smile as Max let out the smallest of laughs.

"Yeah, that'd be so useful. Wow, I can really taste the bread on this burger now," she said sarcastically.

"I didn't mean taste in the literal sense Mayfield, more like taste in boys," he waggled his eyebrows, before stopping when he realized she couldn't see it.

"Trying to get me to take you back?" she responded, unimpressed. "Get over me... I just realized I don't know your last name."

He would never get over her. The thought came to him suddenly and it makes him sad, almost. Not sad about the fact that he loves her, but sad about the fact that she doesn't want him to. He wonders if she still felt like she did before Vecna- that she was undeserving of his love. Because she wasn't. She was the only person Lucas wanted to ever love and he wished she could know that and finally be okay with it.

"Hello? Lucas? Are you gonna tell me your last name or..."

"It's Sinclair," he jolted back to the present, trying to forget about all that. He would think about it later, when she actually remembered basic facts about him.

"Hmm," she hummed. "Lucas Sinclair. Cute. I was expecting you to make a 'it's going to be your last name too one day' joke, but I guess you're more mature than I thought."

"Thanks?"

"Hmm," she hummed again. "Do you have a middle name? I feel like you're the type of person to have a middle name."

"What does that even mean?"

"I don't know man, it's just the vibes... so, do you?"

"Yeah, it's Charles," he answered, smiling again.

"Ugh," she groaned. "I kind of wanted you to not have a middle name so I could give you one."

"You still can," he said quietly.

You could give me anything, anything, and I would take it.

"Ooh... so many options... how about... Periwinkle! Lucas Charles Periwinkle Sinclair. Do you like it? You love it right?"

I love you.

"Yeah," he huffed.

"Really? Dude, it is really fun to have someone be in love with me." she laughed. "Makes me wanna love you back."

Lucas wished she wasn't kidding.
