prompt: Kirishima hears crashes and crying when he's supposed to be asleep, he goes to see what happens and finds deku... but deku won't say what happened so Kirishima just let's him know that he's there for him.

CW: mention of abuse based on must have been the wind.

Kirishima heard a glass shatter, at first he thought that maybe he was dreaming he sighed softly looking up at the ceiling.

"you're so fucking useless" Kirishima sat up hearing a boy's shaky voice it sounded like maybe he's been crying. Kirishima knows the walls of the apartment were super thin he could hear when his next-door neighbor brought a prostitute but this was the only apartment he could afford.

Kirishima couldn't help but think maybe the neighbor above him needed him, it wouldn't be manly of him to just ignore his cries.

He got up from his bed, walked over to his closet, and threw a hoodie on, he slipped on his slippers and walked out shutting the door behind he glances around his surrounding.

He always felt cautious in his apartment he couldn't wait until he officially becomes a hero, he walked towards the elevator and pushed the number two.

He picked at his nails nervously maybe he should've taken the stairs to the second floor it would've been faster, what if it's too late? what if he's too late? He would never forgive himself if he couldn't help the guy out.

once the elevator doors opened he rushed out counting the doors to see which one was above his, he stopped in front of the door "B17" he whispered to himself, and he took a deep breath knocking on the door.

Kirishima's breath hitched slightly when he saw the small greenette with freckles scattered across his nose and cheeks "uh..." he cleared his throat "I heard noises are you okay?" Kirishima asked tilting his head to the side.

"I think your ears must be playing tricks on you" he whispered as he zipped up his jacket to his chin to hide the bruises he's received.

"thank you for caring sir that's really sweet of you, but I have to go back inside I wish I could tell you about the noises but I didn't hear a thing" he mumbled "it must've been the wind, it must've been the wind" he rambled.

"IZUKU" Deku jumped slightly glancing back to his father "I have to go now" he whispered giving the kind man a smile and then shutting the door.

Something felt wrong but he really couldn't do much but head back to his apartment, so he ends up laying on his cold tile floor looking up at the ceiling once again.

Kirishima couldn't shake the horrible feeling in his gut, he didn't want to intrude though since he didn't have all the facts. He stood back up forgetting his slippers and went back to the second floor it was past midnight he knew that Izuku might've been sleeping "one more try" he mumbled to himself knocking gently on the door.

Deku frowned knowing it was the guy from earlier, he glance over at the bedroom door he was worried his father would come out.

He took a shaky breath and walked towards the door cracking it open and glancing behind him once more "uh... yes?" "I need to ask you-" Deku covered his mouth with his hand then stepped out and shut the door behind him.

he removed his hand "the noise... I don't know what you're talking about, thank you for caring it's sweet of you sir-" "eijirou" "eijirou... I didn't hear anything maybe your ears are playing tricks or it could be the wind"

Kirishima frowned hearing the answer maybe Izuku didn't want any help so he nodded his head "right... I'm sorry" "it's quite alright" Midoriya gave him a small smile, Kirishima looked into those eyes once more searching for something. He sighed and then left Midoriya behind he knows it was none of his business but he couldn't shake the bad feeling in his gut.

once he reached his room once more he grabbed a boombox which he rarely used but maybe he could give the poor boy a hint.

He walked toward the roof turning on his boombox and playing a song name 'lean on me' to give Izuku a hint that he could always come to him about anything.

He looked up at the stars that reminded him of the freckled boy, he couldn't help but feel a bit sad for being useless.

He heard the door creak open he turned around seeing Izuku "could I sit with you..?" He asked "of course, you can" he smiled sweetly, midoriya nodded walking towards him and sitting down "I promise I'm not playing any tricks" he mumbled "you're always welcome to come over you could stay an hour or two whenever you need a friend"

Midoriya smiled leaning his head on his shoulder and taking a deep breath "we could talk about the noises whenever you're ready but until then we can blame the wind"

"That sounds very lovely thank you Eiji" he whispered closing his eyes, Kirishima pushed his hair back "anything for a friend" he mumbled.
