No One's POV

- Warning: needles, blood, torture -

The day was filled with interrogations and threats. She was forced to sit in the room as they showed her photographs of a male Na'vi she had never met in her life. They were impatient.

Mali'ki was hopeless. She had given up so easily yet she didn't allow herself to break so easily in front of the sky people.

Mali'ki was currently in her cell, she was laying down with a blanket over her. The only warmth that she was provided with since it was always so cold.

Before allowing exhaustion to take over her weakened body, the cell door unlocked, and one of the scientists nurse aids entered the room.

Every step toward the bed echoed a creak of protest from the cold floors. Under the blankets, curled into a little ball, Mali'ki listened to them approach. Her teeth chattered from the cold.

A hand rest briefly on her shoulder. Then the hand moves down, pulling the blanket with it, which causes Mali'ki to whine in protest. It's so much worse when she is uncovered. The open air is like ice against her skin.

"Shhh." The lady hushes. "This won't take long." It's near agony, to have her arm pulled out and away from the core of her body. To be forced out of her trembling ball by gentle hands.

There is a picc line in Mali'kis arm, connected to her circulatory system. Mali'kis eyes crack open, watching as the nurse lady worked in quick and practiced motions.

The lady cleaned the line, she flushed it, and then she put the needle in to draw Mali'kis blood. It flowed out easy, down the tube and into the bag. More of her heat was stolen away, drawn out of her for a cause unknown, the temperature of the room seeming to drop with every breath.

Not the room. Just Mali'ki. It doesn't feel like it's been very long since her last session, not long at all. Mali'ki tries to ask, but the words are scrambled, too scattered on her tongue to make sense. She could only whimper, small and fragile and so, so cold.

As the bag fills, the nurse lady takes Mali'ki into her arms, and the nurse lady is warm. Warm enough for Mali'ki to try and bury herself into the ladies chest, enough that the touch of heated palms against her back makes her cling as if the nurse was her only tether to life. Mali'ki was close to tears, but too drained to cry.

"I'm here," the nurse soothes. "I'm with you. Im safe. You're safe." I'm safe. It's spoken like a promise. The nurse is safe, a sanctuary, Mali'kis haven from those who would hurt her. The one person in Mali'kis life who won't hunt her down for the crime of her blood.

The blood itself is just a payment.

"I'm safe," the nurse says again, and they are, they're better than anyone else, Mali'ki is just too cold right now to remember that as well as she should.

There isn't enough warmth. No matter how tight the nurse holds her, it's not enough to melt the frost. Mali'ki shivers harder, her muscles numb from exertion.

The nurse pulls the needle out of the line. "There we go. All done. Thank you. You have no idea how much this helps me." "P.....pl...please.." The blanket is wrapped around her shivering form. The nurse stands and moves away, bag in hand. "I'll be back later with food. You can rest."

Pulling the blankets up over her head, Mali'ki barely hears the nurse walk away, the click of the lock behind them.

Mali'ki just wanted to be warm again. She wanted to be home.

The little warmth she had in her had lured her to sleep, she didn't care about eating anymore. The food was unbearable to eat and it always made her sick to her stomach. So she soundly slept very lightly.

SEVERAL DAYS LATER ...

Heirani had grown to be depressed but never ending searching for her daughter. Now her mate, Kian, was rampaging with anger trying to get his daughter back.

Kian had started a battle between the sky people to get his daughter back. He fought for so long. It was never ending. He offered money, jewels, anything he could think of to have his daughter back. But the sky people would not budge.

The sky people knew of nothing of the Herwi people and they wanted to get as much information as they could. Along with having the right materials, equipment, dna, to create their own avatar that is custom to live in the cold weather.

Heirani and Kian were exhausted because there was nothing they could do anymore. All they wanted was for their daughter to be back home. Safe. Happy. Soon enough, Heirani thought of the worse. Kian felt heart broken after a couple of days, weeks had flown by, so him and Heirani were begging Eywa for the safe return of their first born and for another chance at having another child.
