Thursday
3:00pmTHE boy locked his car, putting his backpack on one of his shoulders while his other hand held his keys and phone.
He had left school grounds after school, knowing very well he had to be in Ms. Smits room after his last class.
Kaiyes didn't think it was serious, he had just got McDonald's. He had a tendency to not eat all day at school, then eat after.
Although, his memory didn't let him forget about having a tutor. So even if he went home, it would be all he would think about.
He held his McDonalds bag while walking very slowly to Ms. Smit's classroom.
"So glad you decided to join us Kaiyes." Her voice came out soft and she had a smile on her face, but he knew it was sarcasm. Smit was fuming under that smile.
Kaiyes had been 15 minutes late. What can he say, he drives slow. That was a big lie, he was listening to music in the school parking lot.
Imani didn't seem to acknowledge him, her notebook was out, her pen was out. She just seemed to not hear them, and she couldn't.
Her earphones were in, listening to Extra, by Future.
"Ma fault Smit," Her arms were crossed and she huffed, "Don't apologize to me, apologize to her. It's not my time being wasted."
It was weird, but he felt nervous apologizing to her. He knew Smit wouldn't let this go until he did, so he had to suck it all up.
Walking up to his designated seat, she realized and took out her earphones, not bothering to look at him.
He sat down, placing the McDonald's bag down along with his backpack. Her pout seemed to deepen once she saw that he had food.
She didn't want the food, she was annoyed that was the reason why he was late.
"You want it assum?" He slouched back into the seat, manspreading.
Imani looked in his direction, looking deep into his eyes. Her eyes were a light brown, almost like his.
"No, we can work." He licked his lips slowly, his stomach turning when she looked him up and down.
