Varian had been in prison for a week now. The food was terrible, the water tasted funny, and the shackles dug into his wrists. He very well knew that his punishment could've been much worse, but he still considered this rough. The queen had requested someone to help Varian get over his psychological "problems." Varian didn't feel like he had any psychological problems, but anyways today was his first appointment. Right about now what Varian really missed was his dad, and his bed.

It had only been a week, but Varian knew that he was paler than usual, and he knew that he had bags under his eyes. Varian hadn't been eating or sleeping very much recently. Ruddiger was very worried about him. Then Varian heard a voice behind him at his cell door.

"Hello, it's time for your appointment." Varian turned around to see Nigel with a smug look on his face.

Varian wanted to reply, but the way Nigel said "appointment" sent chills down his spine.

"Well it doesn't matter if you're ready you're coming." Nigel said sinisterly.

Varian froze, he tried not to show it, but under his tough exterior he was just a scared kid, I mean yes he is 14, but he's still a kid. A guard unlocked the cell door and walked inside. The guard clipped a chain on to Varian's shackles. Varian still hid his fear, but was frozen.

"Come on!"

Another guard walked inside the cell and pushed Varian forward. Varian fell and scratched his face. He got back up and walked out of his cell. The first guard handed Nigel the chain that was connected to Varian's shackles. Ruddiger followed his friend, as the two guards stood behind Varian.

After a few minutes Varian saw that there was a door in front of them. Nigel led the poor teen inside as the guards stood...well guard outside the door. Ruddiger was also forced to stay outside of the room. Varian looked around the room. There was a pulley on the ceiling. There was a table that had a box on top of it. The ceiling was pretty low, Nigel stood on a stool and fed the chain through the pulley and pulled on the other side. Varian was unexpectedly pulled off his feet so his hands were nearly in line with the pulley. Varian saw Nigel secure the chain. Varian could feel the fear rising in his stomach.

"Don't worry we'll start easy for this first session." Nigel said smugly. Varian did not like the sound of this.

Nigel walked over to the box and pulled out a small piece of rope and a thin whip. Varian's heart stopped. He was really scared now. Nigel walked over and stood on the stool behind Varian. Nigel lifted the back of Varian's shirt and secured it with the small piece of the rope, then he stepped down off the stool and kicked it aside.

"We wouldn't want to get your only outfit ruined now would we. And don't worry this won't hurt. Well at least it won't hurt me." Nigel said then snickered.

Varian braced himself as he heard the whip crack and felt something hot and sticky roll down his back. Nigel kept whipping Varian. Varian struggled not to scream, the pain was unbearable, but he didn't want to give Nigel what he wanted. So instead Varian was breathing heavily and whimpering every time the whip hit his back.

"This is what happens to traitors. Remember that." Nigel sneared as he continued to hurt the poor boy.

The pain was really starting to get unbearable now. Varian's breathing became more and more irregular. At least until he snapped and let out a blood curdling scream. After he screamed Varian let his head hang.

"Are you trying to get someone to save you? Well it won't work. These walls are too thick for anyone to hear you." Nigel said smugly as he continued to whip Varian.

Varian still took the pain as silent tears streamed down his face. After what felt like hours of tourture for Varian he finally yelled.

"STOP! PLEASE! stop...please." Varian started yelling, but hus yell quickly fell to a whisper until the last word was nearly audible.

Nigel stopped and pondered for a minute.

"Fine you've had enough for today."

Varian silently thanked God for letting this stop as Nigel released the poor boy from the ceiling and pulled his shirt down. Nigel led Varian out of the small room and back to his cell, which for once he was happy to be in.

"Ruddiger" Varian said as his voice cracked a little.

The racoon sat and looked up at his friend.

"That really sucked." Varian said as he sat there as the moonlight lit up the dim room a little.
