"Okay, Ashley you next please?" We were doing cross country team training for the competition next week, and it was my turn to go. We were training over a course of 1.67m jumps, with awkward turns and tight corners. I was riding Taz, the horse I will ride for all the competitions.

We approached the hurdles, taking each jump in our stride. Taz cleared every jump, one after the other, with record time and raced back to join the group. "That's how I want everyone to ride this, okay guys?" Alex said as he patted my sweaty palomino on the neck.

After an hours break, it was dressage time! Samantha was riding her own horse, demonstrating the complicated moves, and getting us to copy them.

We mastered flying changes, half-passes, pirouettes, piaffe's, and most of them Taz had never done in his life! Samantha handed us a copy of the dressage test that we would be learning for the competition, which we'd practice in our spare time.

After lunch, it was show jumping time! We all went into the show jumping field where Zara was waiting. "Okay, girls, today we're practicing spreads and oxars! Form a line, and we'll warm up over the poles and cross jumps."

Once the horses were warmed up,we made a start on the spreads, which were set at 1.50m. Taz cleared them flawlessly, and as the jumps got bigger, Taz performed better! He took all the jumps easily, including the oxars, and was behaving perfectly!
