A Marvelous Surprise (Slow Updates)

Chapter 8 : Melissa Sheild the Iron Heart, and a heroic save

(Melissa pov, earlier that week): The day after the serum injections for Izuku and uncle Might, me and dad were meeting nezu at UA to talk over something important that was for me.

Nezu: "Thank you for meeting with me today. Now, I'm sure you are curious about what I wanted to talk to you about, correct?" He asks for us to just nod yes at him. He then goes over to the capsule and presses the power button for it to light up and project some kind of holographic computer core ball.

Friday: "System's online, do we have another candidate for the new avengers sir?" The system asks nezu while me and dad were just staring at it in pure shock. Nezu really wasn't kidding when he said that it was a time capsule of the Avengers.

Nezu: "Yes Friday, we do. For the Iron man armor, the candidate is miss Melissa Sheild, her code name Iron Heart." He says as I snap out shock to somewhat yell in surprise.

Melissa: "WAIT, WHAT!? What do mean, are you seriously giving me the iron man armor!? Are you saying that I can fulfill my old dream of being a hero!?" I say as he looks at me with a wide smile on his face and shakes his head.

Nezu: "Yes I am, and more over, we are hoping to restore their legacy to the world. All Might has thought that you would be a good fit for the role, and all the more so after what I found out about your father's ancestry." He says with hint of laughter in his voice. Me and dad wondered what he was talking about with our ancestry, and what that had to do with anything.

David: "What do you mean sir? What does my ancestry have to do with this?" Dad asks for both of us to look at him with curiosity. He then chuckled a little to himself.

Nezu: "Hahaha... Why it's simple really. Your both the descendant's of Tony Stark himself. David, your ancestor was his daughter, Morgan Stark. So in a way this armor is back in the hands of a Stark to be used to help the world as an armored avenger. As you both know, the quirkless do tend to be mistreated and abused/persecuted by a society that is too focused on quirks. But a true quirkless hero like Iron man, or should I say Iron Heart returning to the world would be the first step in rectifying this issue." He says as we both look at him completely dumbfounded at what he was implying; that we were both the descendant's of the Tony Stark himself and that the dream that I once had could now be a reality even though I didn't have a quirk. I started to tear up and hug my dad while crying tears of joy.

Melissa: "Dad, I can finally do it, I can finally be a hero like uncle might." I says as I hold on to my dad while crying. He just hugs me back and holds me close. I could tell that he was a little worried about the idea of me being a hero without a quirk. "Dad, I promise, I will be okay. I know your worried but I want this more than anything. So please let me do this and fulfill my dream, please." I asked for him to still hold on to me tightly.

David: "I know, but I'm still worried about you. Ever since your mother died I have tried to keep you safe. I know it was and still is you dream, but as your father it's my job to worry about you. But if your set on this, then I won't fight against it and I will support you. Just promise me that you will be safe." He says while fighting back tears and holding on to me. We stayed like that for a minute before Nezu cleared his throat.

Nezu: "If it will assuage your fears a little more David, I have a proposal for Melissa. We have five months left before the UA entrance exam for the hero course, and if you train to handle yourself in the armor then we let you take the exam and you will be in both the hero and support courses here at UA. However if you fail the exam you can enter the support course and continue to train until the sports festival. This way she will be safe and around people who you trust her with." He says for dad to look at him and calm down a bit as he remembered that I would be with uncle Might and auntie Inko. He then held his hand out to say he accepted the deal.
