In this universe the kingdoms militaries didn't disband and atlas is still the most advance but vale is the most powerful. Jaune joined the vale military and after his time in service he connected to team PNR and hit it off becoming close friends. This was him talking about his time as a gun ship operator with ren.

This got the interest of atlas personnel to see how they could be the most advance but not the most powerful and what exactly a gun ship is

The students where sad that Jaune wasn't with them at beacon

This sudden information on how terrible the conditions of his job made everyone take a mental step back recovering from this information while Saphron was hoping her little brother wouldn't suffer alcoholism ptsd or any other mentioned illness

"We actually used to make jokes about it like
'The gunships flew on cancer'
*laughs*
The cancer rate in the gunship community
Is actually pretty high
Because we have like some of the most
Cancerous substances known to man on there."

"If it's so dangerous why are they still up?!"
A frantic Saphron shouted

"They most likely have the best safety measures in place to prevent it as much as possible but if this job is necessary they'll do it no matter what."
Ironwood responded trying to ease Saphrons nerves while thinking of ways to improve and implement such a weapon for atlas

"They had Air Force quality
Or some king of medical people come out
And do like an air test
While we were doing live fire on the gunship
The amount of lead in the air
While we were shooting was so high

'You should be on oxygen literally all the time.'
And we weren't
And we didn't even with that advice."

"I though you said they would do their best for them!" An angry Saphron yelled at ironwood

"This is an entirely different universe im just guessing." Ironwood tried to defuse the situation
