Ruby: "what's the backstory on this one?"

Gruzzli: "it is cinder recalling a duel.... Or well a subordinate is using his semblance to peer into her memories about the day she nearly died"

This piqued everyone's intrigue

Cinder: "I WHAT?!"

Gruzzli: "you nearly died. "

Salem: "a pity if only you where stronger"

???: "Tell me something before I leave"
Cinder: "speak."
???: "Jaune, how did he wound you?"

Everyone: "IT WAS JAUNE/ME WHO NEARLY KILLED HER/ME?!"

Cinder: "THAT DOESNT MAKE ANY SENSE!"

Jaune: "I know I'm not the strongest but hey that hurt!"

The black rebreather covered much of her face and the murk occluded some of her expression but I believe for the very first time I saw something like shame flicker across my lords face

Yang: "wait did you get your ass kicked so hard you're ashamed to admit it?"

Cinder: "imagine yourself getting nearly killed by HIM!"

Yang looks over at Jaune

Yang: "No offence Jaune but yeah I gotta side with her"

Jaune: "rude."

Cinder: "he wouldn't die. He just, wouldn't die."
Cinder clenched her fists in frustration
Cinder: "the only way to kill me was welcome his own death, and he did it the moment the chance arose."

Ren: "OUM DAMMIT JAUNE STOP DYING!"

Jaune: "IM DOING MY BEST NOT TO DIE I CANT HELP IT!"

Cinder: "We where face to face like that with his blade through my body, my armour sparked. It failed. I lashed back, his blood soaked the talon. He fell."

Cinder: "he broke my aura and impaled me while I simultaneously broke his and slashed him?"

Salem: "seems like this is the case."

Ozpin: "equivalent exchange it seems"

Pyrrha: "obviously not if cinder is telling the tale"

Jaune: "no he's right cinder is much stronger than me so if I where to take something worth my strength from her she would be weak but alive"

Ruby: "dude stop talking like you're weak you doubt yourself to much"

Jaune: "im not! Just look at the situation cinder is wearing thick armour and has a giant claw and I have my old sword."

This quieted ruby

I remained quiet letting cinders tale unspool
Cinder: "he wasn't dead Khayon. He was on the floor, sprawled like a corpse, disembowelled and torn in two, but he still lived."

Ozpin: "how is mister Arc still alive?"

Jaune: "am I immortal?"

Salem rolled her eyes

Cinder: "of course you aren't if you where I wouldn't be telling my story"

Jaune: "you said it at the start I wouldn't die and I'm alive in two pieces let me have this."

Cindy: "I was on my knees, forcing my dead lungs to keep breathing, kneeling over him like an Apothecary. The Sword was still through me."
I did not ask cinder to tell me I reached into her thoughts then.
