The sun shone brightly in a cloudless sky when Cake's class left for scout camp. Birds chirped merrily and insects buzzed lazily in the early morning heat. Cake's uniform shirt stuck to his back, damp with sweat, but he still hung out with his group of friends in the courtyard before it was time to pile into the bus.

It was too early for all of this. If it were up to Cake, he'd still be in bed with his nose buried in Eiw's hair, but when he thought about all of the outdoor activities they were going to do over the next few days, he felt a little more energized.

Every year their school took them on a field trip to build their wilderness skills. This year, their class was going to build fires from scratch, go rock climbing, zip-lining, kayaking, and go tearing through an obstacle course. Cake loved all of the activities so much and couldn't pick a favorite.

He boarded the bus with his friends, horsing around and creating enough chaos that they had to be shushed and ushered into line by one of the teachers.

Cake sat down at the back of the bus, and Tar slid into the seat next to him. Cake wished that Eiw would sit next to him on the ride up to camp, but he never sat next to Cake when he was surrounded by all of his friends.

Thankfully, he'd at least slept over last night and helped him pack. Cake didn't have the attention to detail Eiw did, and he probably would've forgotten his toothbrush or something. Of course knowing Eiw, he would've packed extras just for him.

Before they got on the bus, Tar had ribbed him, pointing out that Eiw did everything for him last night while he just sat around and played video games. Cake rolled his eyes, it was only natural that Eiw looked out for him like that. After all, Cake returned the favor in his own way.

Cake settled into his seat and turned to look out the window when his new cellphone buzzed in his pocket.

Just before Cake and Eiw left for scout camp, their moms gifted them with flip phones, and ever since, a girl that he'd met recently had been blowing it up.

Rin was a girl who was two grades above him. Cake knew most of the people at school, but he hadn't gotten acquainted with Rin and her friends until he kicked a football a little too hard in their direction during lunch.

The ball flew high through the air and ricocheted off the wall closest to her. Cake hastily hurried over to apologize and collect it.

Rin hadn't been upset though. She shot him a flirty smile and said that all would be forgiven if he added her on MSN. Ever since then, they hadn't been able to get enough of each other.

They weren't official yet, but Cake was having a lot of fun trying to make her his.

Rin - I can't believe I'm not going to see you for three days!

Miss me already? :P - Cake

Rin - Oh please, don't flatter yourself >_<

You totally miss me, admit it! - Cake

Rin - Okay fine...
Rin - Maybe a little
Rin - Or a lot .////.

Cake's face hurt from the way P'Rin's messages made him beam.

Okay, be my girlfriend then! ;) - Cake

It was bold, maybe a little too bold, but before he could regret it, Tar nudged him.

"Are you texting your girlfriend?" he asked.

"She's not my girlfriend yet, but almost!" Cake replied.

"That's cool." He said, nodding in understanding. "Hey, by the way, does Eiw not like me?"
