THE POGUES were back on the road, as Pope drove them to the location of Limbrey. They all looked out of the Truck windows, admiring the views of mansions were so big that it made the Kooks look like Pogues. Aurora threw her cigarette out of the car window, as Pope parked outside of the building.
The metal gates towered over the four, as they stood outside. JJ scoffed, "So much for home security. Do you think those spikes are to keep people out?"
"No." Pope replied, "The slave quarters are over there. These spikes were to keep people in." The four cautiously walked towards the door, as Pope knocked on it three times, "Was that too much?"
"Well, it definitely echoed the whole home." Aurora replied sarcastically, "I think they heard it."
Kie reasoned, "What if nobodies home-"
Suddenly, the door opened and a unfamiliar man stood at the entrance. He looked judgementally at the three, before his eyes drifted to Pope. He smirked, "You must be Pope."
Pope hesitated, "Uh, are you Mr Limbrey?"
"Miss Limbrey expected you yesterday." The man corrected.
Pope explained, "I'm sorry, my car broke down on the way up here."
"The carburettor blew up in the middle of Nowheresville." JJ added, "Sorry about that."
The man stared at Pope, "She also expected you to come alone."
Pope frowned, "These are my friends. They helped find the Royal Merchant too. I-"
Aurora interrupted, "What Pope's trying to say is that we're kinda a package deal."
"The instructions were explicit." The man insisted, "Your friends can stay outside."
Rory folded her arms across her chest, "See, that's where we're gonna have a problem, sir-"
"It's okay. I got this." Pope reassured, as she looked between his friends, "Just keep the car running."
JJ and Kiara sat in the front of the vehicle, whilst Rory leaned through the gap inbetween the seats, "If Limbrey is legit about this, then Ward gets arrested, and maybe Sarah gets the gold-"
"Look, there's Pope." Kie interrupted, as they watched him follow a man and women down a path, "Does that look voluntary?"
JJ shook his head, "That would be a negative."
"Wait, wait, wait." Aurora said quickly, "They're going around the alley. Go round the back."
"Yeah." Kiara agreed, as JJ quickly started driving, "Be chill. Hey, be chill." She looked out of the window, "Where'd they go?"
"Maybe they're underground. Because I'm C.H.U.D, when they took people down into the sewers, it would turn humans into humanoids because of the radiation. And then, all of a sudden-"
"JJ, focus." Rory interrupted, patting him on the shoulder from behind him, "You're not making any sense. Just focus on driving, okay?"
"Yeah, sorry." JJ nodded, "Kie, did you see him?"
"Pull over here." Kiara insisted quickly, as she already had started opening the car door, "Pull over!"
The twins followed Kiara down an alley way, which took them towards a wall which lead to the garden of 27 Kings Street. Aurora was the first one to climb over it, as she heard the shouting of Pope from the other side.
"Rory! Wait!" JJ shouted protectively, as he helped Kie climb over the wall.
Ignoring her brother's calls, she sprinted towards the man, who was being bundled by Pope, as he tried to reach for the taser beside him. Aurora ran towards them quickly, grabbing the taser before the man could and shoving it to his neck. As the man spasmed on the ground, Pope quickly climbed off of him whilst JJ and Kie sprinted around the corner.
"Come on!" Kiara shouted, "Let's go!"
Pope grabbed the man by his collar and punched him around the face, before JJ pulled him away. They all jumped back over the wall and sprinted to the Heyward Truck.
"These people are crazy as shit!" Pope panted, "We need to leave now!"
JJ swerved through the roads of Charleston, as the man started chasing them in his car. Aurora contemplated letting JJ drive but, then again, the car needed to go fast to get away. Rory just didn't feel like dying today.
"He's following us!" Kiara worried, as she watched a green car chase them from a distance.
"This is a one-way!" Aurora shouted, as he dodged the cars which were driving towards them, "J, This is a one-fucking-way road!"
"He's following us!" Pope panicked, "Turn now! Turn now!"
"For fuck sake!" Aurora shouted, before leaning over the front seat and turning the steering wheel herself.
"Don't touch the driver!" JJ argued, as he turned around to look at his sister, "I was about to turn!"
Aurora opened her mouth to argue back, but her eyes drifted to behind JJ's head to two people crossing the road. She pointed, "JJ, turn around! Look at the road!"
"There's people!" Kiara panicked, covering her eyes from worry, "Oh my God!"
"Jesus! Look out!" Pope shouted, "Those were people!"
"JJ, what are you doing?!" Kiara panicked, as he drove the car manically.
"I'm losing him!" JJ explained, however, the familiar hissing sound came from the car bonnet again. JJ shouted in frustration, "He said he fixed it! He said he fixed the car!"
The four quickly got out of the car, as the man's car followed them down the alley way the truck had broken down in. They started sprinting towards the main streets, as the man followed close behind.
Aurora looked behind her, before panting, "He has a... fucking gun!"
"Shit!" JJ shouted, "Get down!"
Pope complained, "I think I'm cramping!"
"Come on, old man!" JJ grabbed Pope's arm before dragging him to the front of the group, "Quick, down here!"
JJ led the group through another alley way, as the group ran in a single-file line. They exited the alley and skidded to a stop, as a bike jolted towards them.
"Watch out-" Aurora shouted, but her voice faded away when she noticed the faces of John B and Sarah. Their warm smiles beamed at the trio, as they all looked at them in disbelief. The two both shared dirty faces and the same clothes they wore on the day they died. Rory looked at Sarah, and a familiar sense of comfort erupted in the girl. A feeling she hadn't felt since their 'deaths'. This couldn't be real, could it?
John B snapped them out of their gaze, "Quick! Get in, get in, get in!"
Sarah couldn't help but smile, "Hurry!"
But she couldn't hurry. Rory was frozen on the spot, unable to move her limbs until JJ snapped her out of her gaze and had to drag her onto the bike. Aurora was speechless, for once in her life, as she sat sat next to Sarah. Pope and JJ pushed the carriage from behind, helping John B as he peddled. A single tear fell from Rory's eye, as all of the emotions came flooding back in, and suddenly, she was back to reality...
"Quick!" Kiara shouted to JJ and Pope, who were pushing the carriage, "He's coming!"
Sarah was quick to notice Rory crying, and cupped her hands on her cheeks, "Hey." She said softly, as tears glistened in her hazel eyes, "I'm here. It's okay."
"I-I..." No words escaped Aurora's mouth as she tried to form a sentence, so instead, she embraced the girl with a hug, pushing her face into the girl's shoulder. Sarah's arms tightened around the girl, almost taken by surprise by this unfamiliar psychical side of Rory as she was never usually a hugging person. However, Sarah brought out a change in her. A change that everybody noticed.
And suddenly, Aurora was home. Home being a person, not a place.
