The Diary of Maria Di Angelo

Scene 5 : Back to the Underworld

[The scene starts with Maria and Hade putting their light coats on, as well as their shoes. As soon as their done, they walk out together, hold hands and stand in the hall way together for a bit, Carlotta stood by the door]

CARLOTTA

"So this was a nice surprise. I mean I invited you so.."

MARIA DI ANGELO

"Yea. It's too bad I couldn't see your parents again. But oh well"

HADES

"I'm sure it's for the best."

CARLOTTA

"Yea. Though thanks with the dishes."

MARIA DI ANGELO

"Yea you're welcome. Ha! Whose the cleaner spouse now?" (Looks at Hades even though he helped too)

HADES (Rolls his eyes, but manages a smile)

"Well, hopefully we'll see each other later"

CARLOTTA

"Yea. Soon would be alright."

[Hades and Maria Smile at each other. Maria let's go of Hades hand]

MARIA DI ANGELO

"I'll see you Outside H.." (Winks at him)

[As Maria leaves. Hades begins to walk a bit, but something stopped him. CARLOTTA was about to close her door but Hades Comes right back]

HADES

"Wait Carlotta."

CARLOTTA

"Huh! Oh, yeah?"

HADES

"The truth is, look. It's complicated. I have Brothers they don't really..Like Maria.."

CARLOTTA

"Oh my- you have brothers- oh my- what-

HADES

"Yes I know, it's just, that's why some of my family memebers won't be coming. I really wish It just didn't have to be like this for Maria."

CARLOTTA

"Well, it's surely not your fault. What did Maria do that made them dislike hee?"

HADES

"...She..nothing..She never met them"

CARLOTTA

"...Wait. She never met them..?"

[Carlotta steps out and Close the door behind her]

CARLOTTA

"Then why in the world would they dislike her?"

HADES

"I have no idea. Look, it may be a lot to ask but I need your help. I want you try to build a Bridge between my brothers and Maria. I want her to feel accepted as part of my family-

CARLOTTA

"Woah Woah, easy. Look. You know Maria, she'll build her own bridge. She doesn't care whether or not anyone likes her. You on the other hand, you should talk to your brothers more and convince them that she is the right person. Don't worry, if anything goes wrong, I be there to defend you and Maria."

HADES [Suprised but still unsure]

"...You're right. Thanks Carla."
