"Madison!" Savanah screeched.
I snapped out of my trance, "Huh?"
"Hello? The answer to number seven?" Savanah said, tapping her pencil on her paper. I snagged the paper and adjusted my eyes to the tiny print, scanning it over and over. I shrugged my shoulders and shook my head.
"I dunno, two?" I guessed.
Savanah signed angrily, "I don't think it takes two dogs to pull a sled that's carrying over a thousand pounds, dumbass."
I mocked her, causing a smile to appear on her face. She rolled her eyes and raised her hand as I went back to day dreaming. I tapped my pencil on the edge of the desk, humming along to a song of Andy's. I smiled wider at the thought of Andy.
I let out a small yawn; I had been up all night again with Andy. My ears were practically dead from all the screams of agony that came from him last night. I felt so bad; his wings were still burnt, and hurt to the touch. He tossed and turned all night, and I couldn't do anything but watch and wait for it to be over for awhile.
The loud school bell rang throughout the class, snapping me out of my thoughts. I glanced at the clock and raised both eyebrows as I realized it was the last period of school already. "Thank god," I groaned.
I slung my back pack over my shoulder and scooted my chair from the desk. I waved bye to Savanah and headed out the door. "See you tomorrow!" I heard Savanah call.
I walked quickly to my locker, spinning it open as I set my bag down. The door of my locker swung open, clattering against the other locker. I unzipped my bag, dumping the clutter of things I had no use for into it. I slammed it shut, throwing my bag over my shoulder once more as I headed towards the buses. I hissed as the sunlight greeted me while I pushed through the doors, blinding me for a few moments.
"Ugh," I groaned, pushing threw the sea of students anxiously waiting to get onto their buses. "Move. Please, move. Excuse me, excuse-"
My ears were filled with loud screams and yells from everyone pushing through, but a sharp whistle cut through all of it. I spun around, surprised as to who whistled, and smiled at the sight of him. There stood Andy, his tight black skinny jeans easily fitting to his bent leg that leaned against his car, a wicked smile on that beautiful face of his. I smiled warmly at him, waving.
I took a step towards him but was only greeted with the feeling of the ground. I groaned, cursing under my breath, and looked up to find Jessica Birch glaring down at me. I noticed her jaw clenched shut tightly, and her eyes that were completely caked in makeup, still clearly showed anger under all of it.
"You freak," Jessica spat at me, jabbing her foot into my rib cage. I yelped in pain, clutching it as I tried to gather myself. "Stay away from my boyfriend."
My eyes went wide. "Yours?"
"Mmm, you might think he loves you? But he's mine, darling. So back off." Anger boiled up, causing my fists to clench. I bit my tongue, holding back all swears I could possibly spit out at her. I muttered under my breath, and her smile grew wider. "Sweet heart, he's one of the hottest males out there. It's hilarious how you would ever think that you'd actually stay together." Jessica reached in her pink designer purse, pulling out wads of cash. "I can please him, both physically and sexually. You, however, can't do either."
With that, she spun around, her golden curls following. My entire body was flooded with rage. She crossed a line; that's it.
I stood up quickly and without a second thought, I leaped onto her back, tackling her to the ground. I heard her scream and yell, her arms and legs flailing to fight back, but I dug her face further into the dirt. I flipped her over onto her back and put all my weight on her abdomen, locking her down. She cursed, louder and louder as everyone surrounded us, shock on their faces. I drove my fist down into her face, hitting directly on her nose. I felt her body jolt with pain but ignored it as I threw more punches. She grabbed at my arms, scratching them deeply with her fake designer nails, but those were soon held down by my knees as I continued beating her face in.
