"Monica!" I screeched out among the crowd. "Monica where are-"

"Right here babe!" She held her hand high, weaving through the crowd.

"Where's Elliot?" I said over the loud music blasting in our ears. Monica shrugged her shoulders and checked her phone.

"He should be here! It's almost eight!" Monica yelled.

I shrugged it off and went back into the crowd with Monica. Beach balls and balloons were tossed into the large crowd of people, bouncing off of everyone's hands as they went. Bright neon lights flashed through the mob of people, changing colors and directions as well to the beat of the music. The DJ stand sat high above everyone, out of reach of any grabby hands that might try.

The booming speakers shot music throughout the pier, making it shake just a bit as it's old wooden planks holding it up couldn't help but vibrate. I threw my hands in the air, laughing and smiling while dancing along with Monica.

I felt a tap on my shoulder, and spun around. "Elliot!"

"Hey! Sorry, had some business to attend to." By the look in Elliot's red yet tranquilized eyes, I could tell his business was marijuana.

I rolled my eyes and shook my head, "Whatever, anyways-"

"How ya'll doing tonight!" The DJ interrupted me over the speaker. The air filled with loud shouts and hollers. "Alright alright, now, I want everybody to throw their drinks in the air and keep 'em up for this song. Aight?"

The crowd roared, and drops of beer crashed to the floor as they raised their glasses high into the air, bouncing all around.

"I'm gonna go get a drink." I said, tilting my head towards the bar.

"Get me one babe!" Monica yelled, downing her other one.

I squeezed through the crowd and past the concessions, slipping myself past security into the bar. "Two Miller Lite's please." I said to the bar tender, and watched as he disappeared behind the counter. I leaned my elbow on the counter, waiting for his return.

"Ah, she drinks?" A cool voice cooed in my ear.

I spun around in my stool, my eyes locked in his.

"Get- out- Andy." I spat, showing disgust.

"Tsk tsk," Andy cooed once more, "We have a lot to talk about though."

"No we don't." I muttered, "Sorry, I'm not a fan of monsters."

I cursed under my breath as I heard him take in a sharp breath. That was the wrong thing to say to him, and I felt him leave. I glanced over my shoulder, double checking that he was gone. He was. "Out of sight, out of mind."

"Here you are." The bar tender said with a smile.

"Oh, thank you." I smiled back, giving him an extra ten with wink.

I stood up with both my drinks but stopped as I watched more security guards holding their place at the door. Crap, I muttered. I looked around and peered over the crowded bar, finding a bright red EXIT sign.

I slid in between people and made my way to the door. With one hard shove, the sealed shut door opened with a creak, indicating just how old it truly was.

My phone buzzed inside my pocket, and I fumbled with my drinks as I grabbed my phone, answering it quickly. "Yeah what up?"

"Where are you!" I could barely hear Monica.

"Don't worry, I'm coming out of the-Ah!"

My phone dropped and clattered to the ground, as did my beers.
