"You ok Em," Derek asked settling in a chair, across from her.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be, we just caught a killer," Emily deflected the question looking out the window of the jet.
"Well you've seemed a bit more distant on this case," Derek said not letting her off the hook that easily.
"Fine, me and Jj got into a bit of a fight before the case," Emily admitted.
"Oh, I see. May I ask what it was about?"
"An ex."
"Yours or hers?"
"Mine, we were out having breakfast and my ex walked up to us called us both names," Emily explained. "She may have also told Jj how I broke up with her," Emily said avoiding eye contact.
"How'd you break up with her," Derek questioned.
"Over her voicemail."
"No you didn't."
"Unfortunately I did but I was going through some shit back then, but now Jj's worried that I might do the same thing to her, but I would never."
"Ok well you need to tell her that, make a romantic gesture, reassure her that she's the only one for you," Derek advised.
"Your right, this week gave her time to cool down, and I can surprise her with something," Emily agreed taking Derek's advise.
"Wait have you not spoken all week?" Derek asked.
"No we have, but it was always me who started the conversation, with things like "hey how was your doctors appointment?" And "goodnight or good morning."
"Does she she respond." Derek asked.
"Yeah, but I can't tell if she is still mad or not," Emily explained.
"Well, how about this I'll stall her and you can go set up a romantic date to tell her your sorry," Derek offered.
"Ok sounds good, give me like an hour," Emily agreed.
"Ok, any tips on how I should stall her?" Derek asked.
"No you offered figure it out on your own I've got enough to get done."
"Fine be that way," Derek said pretending to be offended by her words.
....
"Hey pretty momma," Derek said getting off the elevator and walking over to the blonde.
"Hey, what did you need to meet me for so urgently?" Garcia asked.
"Emily is doing some big romantic gesture tonight for Jj, and she wants our help keeping her from going home," Derek explained.
"Ok, I got it. I'll go start a conversation with her or something."
"A conversation about what?" Derek asked.
"I don't know I'll figure it out as it goes, and then if that doesn't buy us enough time it's your turn to figure something out," Garcia explained her plan.
"Hey JJ, what are your plans after work?"
"Nope just going home, why?" JJ asked as she packed up for the day.
"Oh no reason, I just wanted to uh" Penelope stuttered. "Uh talk, make sure your all good," Penelope thought quickly.
"Oh yeah I'm fine Pen, JJ said grabbing her coat."
"Really because I know you and Em had a tough fight," Garcia said.
JJ sighed sitting on the edge of her desk. "Yeah we did, and honestly it sucks all I wanna do right now is go home and be in Emily's arms. I know this case was tough for her and I miss her."
"I'm sorry, but you know you should just go home tonight give each a little more time to figure everything out," Garcia convinced her to go home.
"Ok, I guess that's a good idea, I'll call her tomorrow," JJ decided.
....
Emily could hear JJ's keys jingle outside the door. She smiled too herself walking over to where she set up her grand gesture.
"What the hell," JJ muttered under her breath as she took in the sight displayed in front of her.

"Emily? What is this?" JJ asked as she set her stuff.
"This is my way of saying I'm sorry, and I- I love you," Emily said walking toward Jj.
"You love me?"
"Of course, you're the best thing that's ever happened to me, I can't imagine my life without you and I'm sorry you were upset," Emily explained pulling Jj close to her chest.
"I love you too, and you know it's ok we fought because now we get to make up," JJ said pointing to the bed Emily had made.
"Good plan."
