Chapter 3. Year-end Evaluation

After the first day's lesson, the daily routine went normal.

The children's attitude toward me seemed to have changed for some reason, but it was clear that it was a change in the good way.

What should I say?

At first, it felt like I was waiting in front of a sign saying "No Entry!" because I was completely an outsider, but now I feel like I'm allowed to enter the fence.

It was fortunate that the children were nice.

However, the peace of daily life, which seemed to be smooth, was also broken by a new event.

the beginning of December.

The practice room door opened when I was practicing choreography.

As soon as director Cho Kyu-hwan's face was seen, the youngest quickly turned off the MR.

"Hello, director!"

"Uh, yes."

Director Cho Kyu-hwan smiled as he was greeted lightly.

"Whew, the smell of sweat. You must have been practicing really hard. I just came down to tell you something. It's not a big deal, so relax."

He held out the paper.

"Your year-end evaluation assignment came out."

"Really?"

Everyone gathered next to Kim Bi-joo, who received the paper.

The notice was written on a piece of paper printed in a neat official form.

【 2013 Joint Year-end Evaluation Guide】

- Location: Taehwa High School Auditorium

- Date and time: December 28, 2013 (Sat)

- Task: Performance that combines two different songs into one theme.

- The traffic situation around the place may be confusing on the day, so please inform the parents of the trainees in advance.

Unlike those who looked at the notice with nervous expressions, I was wandering.

What's the end of the year evaluation?

I know the monthly assessment.

If an average high school student takes a mock test every month, an idol trainee takes a test called a monthly evaluation.

It is the same that it is a test, not a state-run water.

It's the same that you get stressed out according to your grades.

If it's a difference, high school students don't get fired just because they mess up the mock test, but the contract is terminated immediately if their skills are stagnant for two to three months depending on the results of the monthly evaluation.

It's a trainee's life to be abandoned if it doesn't get better.

When I was at TJ Entertainment, there were more than three or four such evaluations a month. A small evaluation every two weeks and a big evaluation every Thursday.

Events vary from time to time.

There are times when each person says, "You're weak in high notes, so master this song." There are times when teams compete by saying, "Make a choreography on your own."
