Kili x male skinchanger

Iwthorn (or Isil-carca he is better known as among the woodland elves) was a skin changer. Sometimes he took the form of a handsome young man and other times he was a large white tiger, as gandalf would say 'both tiger and the man are capricious, he can never be reasoned with'.

In fact that was similar to what he said to the company when led them, persued by a large bear and white tiger, to a house.

However the morning started like any other

Bilbo snuck out to the cliff peering around at the orc pack hunting them. He was not spotted by them, but his heart stopped nontheless. For in the distance he laid eyes on a large roaring bear and more frightening still was a white tiger curled up at its feet. Sleeping with its lips curled back to reveal a pair of large ivory fangs

'sharp enough to pierce metal' Bilbo thought.

When he returned to the company he went to relay the news,

"How close is the pack?" Gandalf asked immediately upon seeing his burglar

"Too close. A couple of leagues, no more." he relayed quickly trying to get to the more pressing issue, "But that's not the worst of it"

"Have the Wargs picked up our scent?" Gandalf presses for more information again

"Not yet. But they will do. We have another problem" Bilbo says but before he can get another word out Gandalf speaks again,

"Did they see you? They saw you!" Gandalf exclaims coming to a conclusion himself

"No, that's not it" Bilbo said, annoyed and anxious

"What did I tell you? Quiet as a mouse. Excellent burglar material." Gandalf gloated to the dwarfs who grunted and nodded in agreement.

"Will you listen? Will you just listen?" Bilbo exlaimed in fustration, fear gnawing at the pit of his stomach, "I'm trying to tell you there is something else out there!"

The dwarfs murmured anxiously and Gandalf became serious at once

"What form did it take?
Like a bear? Or a white tiger?" he questioned

"y-...yes, but the bear was bigger.
Much bigger and the tiger was long-fanged" he said stunned that Gandalf had guessed what he had seen.

"You knew about this beast? I say we double back" a Bofur suggested

"And be run down by a pack of Orcs" Thorin pointed out with a grimice, there was no other way.

"There is a house...not far from here, where we might take refuge." Gandalf finally said, looking like he was torn between telling the company and keeping silent.

"Whose house?" Thorin deadpanned, glancing around to his friends, "Are they friend or foe"

"Neither. They will help us or...They will kill us." Gandalf admitted

The door to the house is flung open abruptly and the dwarfs stumble in, just as the snapping jaws of the bear reached them. They heave the door shut in its face, However, not before the large tiger loged its great fangs (that where indeed sharp and strong enough to pierce the heavy wooden door) into the wood inches above their heads.

"Away from the door!" Gandalf shouted readying his sword.

But just as quickly as they penetrated the doors the tiger seemed to realise it could not reach its prey with its teeth, and the long canines where retracted from the oak. Replaced instead by the heavy slashing of claws, the strength of each making the heavy door shudder as if it where paper.

A roar was heard from the bear and all falls silent and still as the white tiger slinks away.

"What is that?" a voice quite rightly questions

"Those are our hosts." Gandalf muttered solemnly to the now stunned company.

"The bears name is Beorn, He's a skin-changer. Sometimes hes huge black bear, Sometimes he's a great strong man. The bear is unpredictable...but the man can be reasoned with." Gandalf explains to the shocked company,

"and the tiger, is he skin changer too?" Bilbo voiced, interested in why gandalf left that part out.

"yes..." Gandalf said in a grim tone, " Iwthorn can be a rather handsome man but most of the time he is a grand white tiger, both the tiger and the man are capricious. He is Unfortunately extremely unreasonable"

"and they're not particularly fond of dwarves"

The white tiger watched with great interest as the bear snapped it bones and grunted eventually landing (as man) in heap on the floor.

Then it sprang foward. There was no pain or cracking of joints, simply the crunch of receding fur, the snap of changing bones and the tiger was replaced with a white haired man.

Iwthorn assumed that the ease of his transformation was to do with the fact he was far younger and transformed into a much smaller animal (his form was smaller than the bear Beorn shifted too) and therefor his bones didnt need to change as much, but thats a matter for another time.

Iwthorn, just as Gandalf had said, was handsome. He a had long mane of white hair and piercing red eyes. His face, hands and bare chest where covered with faint markings typical to a tiger (the same ones he had on his animal form but lighter).

Unlike the older man who had now regained his strength and was pulling on clothing he had stored in a nearby tree hollow, this man was already wearing simple black trousers that, due to the fact he shifted into his animal form and back again so often, where enchanted so that they would survive the shift and be absorbed internally by his body while he was in his tiger form.

Once Beorn had gathered himself he stood next to the other and motioned him to start making the trek towards the house, Iwthorn smiled excitedly for he remembered all that happened in his tiger form and knew exactly what was waiting for them.
