Rafe and Jade had been dating on and off for months, but their relationship had hit a rocky patch. Jade had had enough and decided it was time to break things off for good.
"I can't do this anymore, Rafe," Jade said as they sat on the beach. "We keep going round and round, and I don't want to keep doing this."
Rafe's face twisted into a scowl. "What the fuck, Jade? You're just going to end things like that? After everything we've been through?"
"I just need some time for myself," Jade said, trying to remain calm.
Rafe stood up, his fists clenched at his sides. "You're fucking leaving me? You can't do this to me, Jade. I need you."
Jade rolled her eyes. "You're always like this, Rafe. It's always about you and what you need. I'm done with it. I'm done with you."
Rafe's face turned red with anger. "You can't just fucking leave me, Jade. You're mine. You belong to me."
Jade stood up and backed away from him. "That's enough, Rafe. I'm leaving."
Rafe grabbed her arm, his grip tight. "You're not fucking going anywhere. We're not done here."
Jade yanked her arm away from him. "Get your hands off me, Rafe. Don't you fucking touch me."
Rafe's eyes narrowed. "You're making a big mistake, Jade. You're going to regret this."
Jade shook her head. "No, Rafe. The only mistake I made was getting involved with you in the first place."
With that, she turned and walked away, leaving Rafe standing on the beach, seething with anger and frustration.
For the next few weeks, Rafe couldn't get Jade off his mind. He found himself stalking her social media pages, driving by her house, and showing up at places she frequented. He was determined to win her back, no matter what it took.
One day, he finally caught her alone on the beach. "Jade, please," he said, grabbing her arm. "I can't live without you. You have to come back to me."
Jade yanked her arm away from him. "Are you fucking serious, Rafe? You've been stalking me for weeks, and now you think you can just come and tell me what to do?"
"I'm sorry," Rafe said, his voice pleading. "I just can't let you go. I need you in my life."
Jade raised her voice. "You don't need me, Rafe. You need to get some fucking help. You're acting like a goddamn psycho."
Rafe's face twisted with anger. "Don't you fucking talk to me like that, Jade. You belong to me, and I'll do whatever it takes to keep you."
Jade took a step back, her heart racing. "I don't belong to anyone, Rafe. Especially not someone who can't even respect me enough to leave me alone when I tell him to."
Rafe's eyes narrowed. "You're making a big mistake, Jade. You're going to regret this."
Jade shook her head. "No, Rafe. You're the one making a mistake. You're the one who needs to get his shit together and leave me alone."
With that, she turned and walked away, leaving Rafe standing on the beach, his fists clenched in anger and frustration.
