Chapter 6: Dumb-as-a-door

A/N: Guys i'm so sorry. I've been struggling a lot with my mh. i promise to update these chapters a lot more often than i have been doing. My entire family was killed in a house fire but imma not get into that. so sorry for pausing. tysm for the support

After Harry had finished his breakfast, He realized he has no idea of what's to come. He glances uncertainly at Sirius and Remus.

"uhh Sirius?"

"Harry?"

"What are you going to do about Dumbledore?"

The room goes deathly silent. Remus and Sirius share a look.

"that's.. a good question" Sirius says, scratching the back of his neck. "and i don't really know the answer to that"

"Well we hafta' come up with something" Harry says, rolling his eyes. Remus pats Harry's shoulder.

"Me and Sirius will go talk to Albus, Alright Harry? and then we'll come back and talk."

Harry silently gulps nervously and nods. Sirius nods as well. He immediately stands and gets his coat on.

"Yeah I have some things to say to this son of a bi-"

"-Sirius!"

"Remus!" Sirius responds with a mocking grin on his face. Remus rolls his eyes as he turns to Harry.

"we'll be back as soon as we can. You'll be all right here alone for a bit?"

Harry, of course, nods. Sirius smiles and ruffles his hair. Then the two walk into the drawing room. Remus raises an eyebrow as he hands floo powder to Sirius. Sirius bows and Remus once again rolls his eyes.

Sirius takes a pinch of the glittering powder. He tosses the powder into the fireplace as he loud and clearly says,

"Dumbledore's office"

He steps into the fireplace and is instantly whirled away. Remus soon follows. Once Remus steps away, he finds himself in Dumbledore's office in Hogwarts.

"Ah Remus, Sirius, what a pleasant surprise"

The two ex-mauraders look up and become face-to-face with the Headmaster of Hogwarts.
They nod as a greeting before sitting down.

"To what do I owe this visit to?" Dumbledore asks, looking from Sirius' face to Remus'.

"Not a pleasurable visit i'm afraid Albus. We're here to discuss Harry." Remus tells him.

Dumbledore's expression does not alter.

"I see, very well. Lemon drop?"

Sirius looks at Remus, disgust visible on his face.

"No thanks" He refuses.

Dumbledore nods.

"What can I do for you two?"

Sirius finds that he can no longer hold back.

"Did you know Harry was being abused by his Aunt and Uncle?

Silence fills the room.

Then Dumbledore takes a booming breath.

"I was... somewhat aware of the.. living conditions Mr. Potter was going through. Although it can seem terrible from your point of view, I can assure you this.. choice of punishment that Harry has to endure is essential to his future, no matter how challenging it can seem for him in the present."

Sirius and Remus freeze.

"You...You knew?"

"Sirius Please-"

"You knew! This whole time? Since.. Since he.. I don't know, since he was a child. Since he was put in that house he was abused and you knew?!"

"Sirius I would not-"

Remus speaks up, as he narrows his eyes at his former professor.

"What did you mean by punishment, Albus? Are you saying Harry deserved the treatment he received from his relatives?"

Dumbledore, as always, keeps a straight face.

"Remus if you would just-"

"ANSWER ME DAMN IT"

Dumbledore falls silent and Sirius looks at Remus with a mixture of fear and admiration.

"The treatment he received from his relatives were crucial to what he needed so I would have to say yes to your question Remus." Dumbledore eventually answers, folding his hands.

Remus stares at him with disgust.

"We're leaving" he finally announces. He stands and goes to the fireplace.

Sirius stands up as well.

"And for the record, we took Harry back with us and there's no way in Godric's name we're ever going to give him back so you can sit here with your smug smile and Allll your magic expertise but there's nothing you're going to do about this." Sirius growls.

Dumbledore remains unfazed.

"Farewell Sirius"

Sirius squints angrily at Dumbledore before him and Remus floo back home.
