Chapter 2: Smart owl

When Harry came to, it took a couple minutes for him to become aware of his surroundings. He was tied tightly to his bed with thick hemp rope. His mouth was completely covered with duck tape so that no one could hear Harry's screams.

Harry groaned as his symptoms caught up to him. His head was pounding, he was covered in aching bruises and lacerations, and he was feeling extremely sluggish and dizzy. His heart dropped immediately when he saw something move in the corner of his eye but he was soon relieved to see his pet owl, Hedwig.

Harry momentarily forgot his situation. He smiled and tried to say something along the lines of "Hi girl," but it came out more of a muffled mutter.

Harry watched, bemused, as Hedwig flew on top of Harry's desk and brought his parchment to where his hands where tied up. She then flew back to retrieve his ink and quill.

Harry made a mental note to praise Hedwig with a treat when he was free before scribbling out a message as best as he could while his hands were tied tightly together, attached ti his bed frame. Harry accidentally poured his ink over his mattress but not before writing out, in huge letters, "Help.Hurry" Hedwig swooped down and took the letter before flying out the window.

Harry leaned his back against the wall and sighed. He had no idea who Hedwig was bringing the letter to, or even if she was bringing it to anyone. He just had to hope that someone would come. Someone to save him. Save him before his Uncle finds out about his ink being spilled. Or before he realizes that the wretched owl is missing.
