A dangerous mission was very typical for the soukoku duo. Named double black for a reason as the duo is made up of the youngest port mafia executive to ever graze the Earth and his partner. So what could possibly go wrong when they're dropped right in the middle of a war zone?
AU: war
"GET READY MEN!!" our sergeant yelled. Dressed in a camo uniform, in a plane at 50,000 feet in the air, we were just about ready for our most dangerous mission yet.

"Remind me why we're doing this?" pondered a brunette, laying lazily on a grand arm chair.
"Did you forget again?" Spoke a small ginger. In truth, he never forgot. His objective? To provoke the ginger sitting next to him.
"Maybe..." Dazai said in a sly tone
"sighs I'll give you another briefing later." what am I supposed to do with this airhead of a partner?- Chuuya thought to himself
The briefing had gone way past the promised time frame. Dazai was loosing focus and all concentration. Therefore it was up to his partner, Chuuya, (who had somehow managed to stay at attention all 2 hours) to give Dazai a broken down briefing.
This mission was bound to be the most dangerous mission in all of Japanese military history. Filled with plenty of unknowns such as those of 8th grade math class when you were asked to "find x". Those were simpler times; however, this mission, called operation domino, was set to have the most casualties out of any operation known to the Japanese. Why was it so dangerous you may ask? The contents of this mission included infiltration and extortion but that was only the tip of the iceberg. Underneath lies complex military tactics and trickery. But it should ok right.....? Having a former mafia executive on your side definitely has it's perks.

"WE JUMP IN 1....2....3! GO! GO! GO!"
"YEAAHHH!! LET'S GO GET EM GUYS!!"
With the noisy mix of loud airplane engines, shouts could be heard from all corners of the airplane. This was it. This was what it came down to. 3 years had passed and this was what their training entailed, a chaotic mess of men yelling, bullets firing, and bombs going off.
Dazai was the 2nd to last one off the plane followed by his partner, Chuuya. "wHeRe ArE We AgAIN?" Having just woken up from a long nap being dazed and confused. "We're at a war zone, dumbass."
"oh. oh...OH." shit we're actually doing this Dazai panicked a bit as he thought to himself. He never really paid any attention in training and just dozed off. You could find him either daydreaming or harassing their squad commander. He wasn't really ever sure what all that training and drilling was for but now it became apparent.
On the verge of dropping in on enemy territory the reality was made clear to Dazai. This was real. This was what they had been prepping for the last 3 years. It was time.
"MAKE SURE YOU PULL THE LEVER" Chuuya yelled at Dazai through the raging wind surrounding them
"YOU MEAN THE PARACHUTE? YEAH I KNOW."

People who've fought in wars know the mental and physical trauma that it comes with. The smells, sights, sounds, everything around you is blown to dust leaving no trail of existence. The pair had never experienced such sights nor smells. This was the first time in a lifetime of an experience. One neither of them would ever forget.

"GRAB YOUR SHIT AND HURRY IT UP" yelled their commander
Hastily grabbing their equipment, Dazai and Chuuya made it to their camp sight. Now it was time to set up camp and the wounded station, a place where most would be spending their days.
2 days passed and nothing occurred. Their squad commander didn't give them any signal of movement and as such, they stayed put. Rested in fact, for the last two days. Day 3 is where everything changed; however. Their squad commander had just gotten the command from higher-ups to move in. This required infiltration skills which Dazai had become quite acquainted with in his previous job of serving the Port Mafia.
Easy money Dazai thought to himself. He was the man for anything stealthy and the military recognized his talents.
After infiltrating, he was to take out the guards and then their squad would move in safe and sound. A sacrificial pawn in a sense. I mean, he is a private but to treat someone with such low disregard for their safety? What a waste.
Getting through his part of the mission successfully, Dazai is then to position himself at the back of the formation. He remembered, unlike everything else in his life, what his squad commander told him. Chuuya went over this in the briefing.
Operation Dominio phase 1: complete
Now onto phase 2. The hardest phase. This was Chuuya's time to shine.
Phase 2 involved extortion. Blackmail is what some would call it. Chuuya preferred to put a fancy title on it. He liked the ring of it. Talking to people was also one of Chuuya's strengths which therefore made him the most suited guy to take the job. Yeah...talking to people.....what could possibly go wrong? Just some civil conversations, taking place in an underground tunnel. Civil. Human. What do those words mean?
When those words were busy occupying Dazai's headspace, a ring rang through his brain matter. Everyone felt it in fact. It was almost as fast as the speed of light. Something that zipped right through you, quite literally. It clicked. Almost simultaneously. The fear of it all. It was just simple conversation right? Nothing could go wrong. Just simple interaction amongst humans, the same species.
Just then..what Dazai realized sent a shock through his system. Rushing over to the location, just a few feet ahead, in fact. The scene which he saw was now engraved into his brain. Red. Blood. Ginger. Black. Double black.
The partner Dazai once knew, the person who he looked up to subconsciously, was now groveling in the dirt. It pained his heart to see him like this.
He crashed to the floor on his knees with a loud band. Trying to gauge the severity of the situation, he was overwhelmed. Emotion after emotion flooding in. Not knowing how to take them he decided to react to them all at once. Screaming, rang out across the empty tunnel. Everyone stared in disbelief at the once superior Chuuya who laid helpless on the ground. Dazai screamed and screamed until his voice was gone.
Chuuya watched all of this in pain. Physically and emotionally. Seeing his only partner break down like this was a new view for him. He couldn't take in everything that was happening. The screams of Dazai, the shocked stares of his comrades. Nobody moved except for the brunette.
Chuuya felt like he was about to pass out. Almost at his limit, he used up every ounce of strength left.
"I wish to stay longer with you, Dazai."
