A honking can be heard outside of my window. I peer through my blinds and see a bright blue sky with a silver white car on the street. It's my sister's car. She pulls into the driveway slowly and exits the car. I rush down the stairs skipping every few steps while trying to keep from falling. Gripping the cold metal door handle I twist it and fling the door open. My sister is standing at the other side of the door. I take a few bags and set them on the floor and we fly into each other's arms.
"You have no idea how boring it was without you Kathy!" I spilled.
"I missed you too Mary," my sister chimed cherrily. "Ready to go, you rat?"
My face twisted as she said rat. "I'm no rat! If anything, you're the rat!" I let out a frustrated sigh.
Kathy just giggled and jingled her keys. "Cmon idiot! You don't want to be late to the rare occasion of you leaving the house to be social! It only happens once every year!" Kathy sang as she elbowed me in my side.
She darted off running and I gave chase. Next thing I knew I was inside the car buckled up. Good thing I was already dressed in my usual attire. A flannel, ripped jeans, a white crop top that just barely touched the hem of my pants, my glasses, rings, a watch, and my bracelets. Staring out the window, memories replayed in my head.
Did I really love Arielle at one point in my life? Why can't I remember it?
"Hey!" a scream echoed through my ears, "you trying to sleep through the party?"
"No" I spoke, well I thought I did.
"I don't understand gibberish Mary," my sister snarked.
"I hate you," I said with a groan
Stepping out of the vehicle I said bye to my sister and her friend as they were hanging out tonight. After I did this I walked up to the door and I was greeted by Arielle.
"Hi-" I said but I was abruptly interrupted by Arielle dragging me to a room alone. "What was that for?"
"I saw Alexander kissing another girl. I thought you deserved to know," she said, voice softening.
I felt it getting hotter in this room. Had she always looked like this, she looked captivating. I took a deep breath and closed the distance between Arielle and I. I pulled away but was met with Arielle's lips on my own. I think I like this more than when I was kissing Alex.
