Getting to school we walked off the bus and into the school. Alex was waiting at the door for me.
"Hey Mary!" Alex waved me over. "You remember where your first class is?"
"No..." I gave a nervous laugh as I rubbed my head.
She smiled and grabbed my hand dragging me to my next class. I swear I saw Arielle's face holding a glimpse of disappointment.
"Oh by the way," I quickly spilled out before I forgot. "Thanks for the picnic and taking me home yesterday."
"Oh uh, you're welcome," her face was turning red and she turned away.
"Also, one more thing before we go to class," I turned her head toward me and lightly pecked her lips.
"I- I uh," I chuckled seeing Alex stutter like that was something new to me. I found it funny. I grabbed her hand and dragged her to the bathroom.
Once in the bathroom with Alex, I had her sit on the sinks and I grabbed a cloth from my bag and wiped her face.
"Are you okay now?" I asked in a low whisper.
She nodded at me. Her face looked pale with hints of pink showing on her cheeks.
Cute. I thought to myself, or at least, I thought I did.
"Oh?" she asked teasingly. "You think I'm cute?"
"I said that out loud?" I said my face felt flush.
She didn't respond and smirked as she nodded. I started to bring my hands up to my face to cover it but she grabbed my wrists and pulled my hands back down. She let go of my wrists and held my face as I tried to look away and then she kissed me softly. My face felt even hotter than before. I grabbed Alex's hand and left the bathroom to our next class.
