Monday morning my mom knocked on my door and came in.
How did I get into my bedroom? Didn't I fall asleep in Alex's lap outside?
"Mary, honey. It's time to wake up, it's your first day back to school," she whispered as she walked out of my room.
Luckily clothes were already set out so I was able to get ready within five minutes.
"Mary!" my mom hollered from downstairs. "Breakfast is ready!"
"Coming!" I shouted downstairs followed by the sound of my shoes walking down the stairs.
"Hey honey, you want me to drive you to school or take the bus?" she tilted her head awaiting my answer.
"Uh..." I paused to think. "I'll ride the bus. It's not like you can drive me forever."
She nodded and continued to dance around the kitchen while cooking for her and dad.
"Hey mom?" she turned around and tilted her head curiously.
"Yes dear?" she remarked with a small smile.
"How did I get into my room last night? I remember falling asleep with Alex when we were on our picnic." I questioned.
"Oh. Alex picked you up and brought you inside and everything. I believe she also set out those clothes you're wearing right now." She sang cheerfully.
"Ah okay that clears things up. Thanks mom!" She nods and then goes back to dancing around finishing her own breakfast.

Once I finished eating, I jumped off the stool and put my plate in the dishwasher.
"Bye mom! Bye dad!" I yelled as I bounced out the door.

Arielle was at my bus stop... I never thought I would see her again this early.
I stepped on the bus and all the seats were taken except the one next to her. She scooted over and faced the window with her backpack on their lap. She rested her head on it. I saw her breathing erratically.
Should I check on her? No. She's a bully, she hit me before, but... now I feel guilty.
"Hey," I whisper tapping her on the shoulder.

She shook her head and turned to me with tears in her eyes.

"I only acted this way because I was frustrated that I love you so much but I didn't know how you felt!" Arielle snapped after I asked what was wrong.
"I..." I froze. "You love me?"
"Yes..." She said, looking away from me.
"I... I love you too Arielle," her eyes brightened as I said this.
She pulled me in for a kiss and I returned it.

We were dating? I don't feel anything for her. I'm pretty sure I like Alex.

"Arielle, I'm sorry I forgot about us dating, but I think I'm in love with someone else... I'm really sorry." I said after remembering what had happened.

She sat up and nodded, giving a faint smile before laying her head back down.

"We can still be friends. I promise it won't be awkward. Okay?" I attempted to cheer her up.

She didn't look up and instead just nodded with her head in her arms.

The rest of the ride I stayed silent looking at some stuff on my phone.
