"I don't know Lockwood!" George yelled at Lockwood who had been pestering him with questions about what was going on.

"Calm down George he's just as confused and worried as we are" Lucy tried to calm George down. They had broke into the Fittes building again for another case when they opened the wrong door they had somehow appeared in a strange city that looked like Italy and everyone was dressed like ancient Romans.

"We can't really be back in ancient Rome right?" Lucy asked looking around.

"Well, those people over there are speaking Latin" George motioned over to a merchant selling a dress to a lady.

"Did yall three look into the bone glass again?" Skull laughed from his jar in Lucy's bag.

"Shut up" Lucy snapped at him "We're in the middle of something here"

"Just let me see" Skull snapped back. Lucy pulled him out of her bag just enough that he could see but not everyone could see him. She didn't want to be burned as a witch or something.

"What is he saying?" Lockwood asked.

"He thinks we're all insane" Lucy rolled her eyes.

"That is definitely ancient Rome" Skull said from his bag.

"How do you know? Its got to be some sort of... reenactment sort of thing-" Lucy asked him.

"That over to the left is the Roman Forum" Skull cut her off. She looked over to the left and saw a massive building that looked a lot older then some of the other building in the area and had massive crowds surrounding it and looked to be under construction.

"Hey George whats that building over there?" She asked him.

"Looks like... No it cant be" He adjusted his glasses and stared at the large building.

"What do you know about the roman forum?" She asked him, Lockwood stood beside and looked interested where she was going with this.

"Whats the Roman Forum?" Lockwood asked.

"It was a building used for public events and a marketplace. That cant be it though it was destroyed around 410 A.D." George answered. Then two men brushed past them speaking in latin.

"Yeah cant be they just said they were going to see gladiaters and they're going in that direction" Lockwood smiled like all their problems had been solved. George and Lucy stared at him in shock.

"You speak Latin?" Lucy asked him surprised.

"I'm rubbish at it but had to learn a foreign language and might as well been Latin" He shrugged like it wasn't a big deal.

"But you know how to understand the word latin word for gladiator?" George raised a eyebrow.

"Do you think I was going to learn Latin and not talk about gladiators?" Lockwood laughed.

"Ok so we're some time before the year 410 then?" Lucy asked.

"Well from the second forum to the side we'd have to be sometime after Julius Caesar" George said looking around. Before they knew it Lockwood had grabbed ahold of someone and was talking to them in some terrible Latin.
