y/n parked her car and turned off the ignition. the late afternoon sunlight lit up her features perfectly, highlighting her hair with golden beams. "alright, you know the rules right, lucas?" she questioned, glancing back towards her little brother.
lucas sat up straight in his seat, still clutching the basketball. "yep! don't talk to strangers, run and scream if someone tries to take me, be aware of my surroundings," he trailed off, his eyebrows furrowing. "uhh.. what else am i forgetting?"
y/n unbuckled herself, leaning over the seat to look at him completely now. "remember where i am and where the car is at all times, plus have fun," she smiled. lucas nodded eagerly and scrambled to unbuckle his seatbelt, practically kicking open the door to launch himself out.
y/n rolled her eyes and couldn't help but to laugh. she loved being able to drive now, especially since she could take her brother places. y/n lived through him essentially, seeing him happy made her heart warmer than ever. with her volleyball in hand, she made a mental note to find somewhere to practice where she could still clearly see lucas.
she set herself up near a wall and began to pepper the ball between her and the wall, easily crouching low to the ground in an instant to pop it back up into the air. her hair was starting to get in her face, and y/n blew the strands away before finally getting annoyed and stopping to tie it up. her ball rolled away when she paused, catching the attention of the nearby girls.
the group of girls had whispered to themselves nearly as soon as she arrived, mainly about who she was and where she was from. eventually, they got up to introduce themselves, one with her ball in hand.
"hey, i'm red! we've never seen you around before, and there's been a ton of buzz about who moved into that pretty house across from kyle and stan! so, we assume you're new?" a girl with long red hair and pretty brown eyes spoke up.
y/n turned abruptly, almost startled by their sudden appearance. "oh, yeah hi! i did just move here, from vermont. i'm y/n! and i think we're both talking about the same house.. the one in front of the dark green house and the greyish-sage one?" she questioned, trying to remember how exactly to describe the two houses nearest to her.
the pretty girl with the most gorgeous blonde curls spoke up next, her hazel eyes almost amber in the golden hour light. "yeah! that's kyle and stan's house! we're all kinda one big gang, but they're off playing basketball right now. they're constantly at each other's throats about something stupid so we kinda do our own thing. i'm bebe by the way!"
the next was the one holding her volleyball, a girl with adorable space buns. "i'm nichole! do you play volleyball? i used to play back in middle school but i had to quit when i joined cheer. i hate how they're in the same season-" she whined, extending her arms to give y/n the pink and white volleyball back.
y/n's eyes lit up excitedly at the mention of volleyball, her pride and joy. "i do! i was a libero for my highschool and travel team. i'll probably join south park's team," you had exclaimed excitedly, clutching the ball under your arm as you rested it against your hip.
"ooh travel team? you must have been really good then! south park high needs you, trust me. we're not exactly known for our sports.." nichole laughed, rubbing the back of her neck out of slight embarrassment.
"we should introduce her to the rest of the group-i'm heidi by the way," the last spoke up, a small smile lighting up her face as she turned to the others. "well, everyone except for wendy. i can't believe she ditched us to study."
y/n let out a laugh, looking over the girl to see if she could remember all of their names already. red was.. well the red-head obviously, bebe was the one with luscious blonde curls, nichole was the super sweet one with adorable space buns, and that of course left heidi, the only one who wore a hat.
bebe nodded excitedly, practically squealing her words. "eee yes! but i do warn you, cartman's an asshole. ignore that bitch," she explained, rolling her eyes. heidi shot her a look, to which bebe just nudged her playfully.
y/n smiled eagerly, glancing around in search of lucas as she followed after the rest of the group. as she began to release her hair from the hair tie, she was surprised to see lucas already with the group of boys.
to her amusement, apparently he was playing basketball with them. a bunch of hoots and hollers arose from the teenage boys as her brother absolutely crossed up a larger guy in a red shirt, breaking his ankles fiercely in a successful fakeout. lucas's shot landed straight in the basket, earning even more commotion from the guys.
y/n's hand slapped across her face to prevent her from wheezing, glancing between the girls. bebe was practically rolling over with laughter, screaming about almost pissing herself. heidi rolled her eyes and told bebe to shut up as she walked over to go help the bigger guy up, her cheeks red with either embarrassment or anger.
"dude- no way you just let a kid break your ankles like that cartman!" one of the boys spoke up, clutching his sides as he laughed. y/n let her attention fall on him, trying to figure out which of the boys he might be.
the bigger kid, who you now knew was cartman, sat up with a huff. "shut up you fucking jew, god you're a bitch!" he hissed with malice, earning a wide-eyed glance from you. "who the fuck is this, heidi?"
heidi gave him her hand to help him to his feet, looking towards you apologetically. "that's y/n, the one who moved into that sick house across from stan and kyle." bebe and nichole nodded in agreement, nearly shoving you towards the rest of them.
the boys exchanged a glance, seemingly staring you up and down in an all too obvious way. it wasn't long before the blonde and blue eyed guy in an orange hoodie spoke up, eyebrows shifty as his face curled up in a smirk. "damn, wish i was kyle and stan right now. i'm kenny, and you're my new girlfriend!" he proposed, stepping forwards to engulf you in a hug
stan elbowed kenny hard in the side, and kyle quickly yanked him back by the hood. stan smiled and gave her a quick wave, "i'm stan, don't mind kenny. we'll keep him a on shorter leash, don't worry." kenny shot puppy dog eyes up at the black-haired teen after that comment, to which everyone rolled their eyes.
the tall boy with a green hat finally let go of kenny's hood, his green gaze resting upon you. "i'm kyle, welcome to south park, y/n," he greeted warmly, his smile presenting perfect dimples.
cartman rolled his eyes aggressively, "he's a fucking jew, by the way. but i'm eric, go by cartman though." your eyebrows raised, trying to figure out what exactly to say after that whole fiasco.
nichole appeared by your side to give you a whisper of a sorry, her hand now resting on your shoulder. y/n smiled warmly none the less, nodding to them all. "it's nice to meet you all- and i'm sorry about my little brother, he gets a little competitive.." you stifled a laugh, trying not to let the image of cartman falling over replay in your mind.
your brother flashed a nervous smile to the rest of the group, waving to them. "i'm lucas, sorry about that cartman.."
kyle's eyes lit up, his lips parted in surprise. "that's your brother? he's so insanely good for his age, please tell me he's gonna play for south park elementary?" lucas seemed pumped about the compliment, his smile wide.
"well- i don't really see why not. i'll ask mom and dad about it when we get home, lucas," you shrugged, a small smile present on your features.
lucas seemed pleased about your answer, and you glanced fondly between the group. they seemed super cool, and honestly, the guys were cute- y/n felt suddenly quite excited, wondering if this could finally be the year she could let lose a little and be a proper teenager. though, obviously her version of letting lose would still include her studies as a first priority.
