following closely behind stan in a desperate attempt to get to class before the bell rang, you were surprised so many faces curiously stared back at you. for a small school, you had expected an honors class to be relatively minor in size.

a girl with long, silky raven black hair stood with her hands on her hips, a distraught and agitated look upon her face. "i've been looking for you everywhere stan- where we're you?" she questioned, almost aggressively.

stan glanced awkwardly over his shoulder to kyle and y/n, to which kyle simply rolled his eyes as if to say, "not this crap again."

you stared confused, but decided to just follow quickly after kyle as he made his way to his seat. the boy gestured to the seat behind him, muttering something about how the seat was open.

"what's going on? who's that?" you managed to whisper out as you settled yourself in, leaning forward over his shoulder to speak discreetly. this close to him, you could pick up the warm scent of his cologne. his green gaze flicked to the side as you spoke to meet your eyes. for a moment you felt your breath hitch, with his eye contact and the smell of his cologne nearly intoxicating you.

kyle's face felt hot with the sudden closeness, but he cleared his throat before responding in a hushed voice. "that's wendy, stan's girlfriend. but i honestly have no idea what's going on right now- they argue pretty regularly," he explained, sighing afterwards.

y/n nodded silently, deciding it was best not to comment. especially since she didn't really know the group all too well, but she had seen wendy's name. it just seemed like she didn't really text much.

"we ended up bumping in y/n, so we helped her find the front office for her schedule and everything. i'm sorry wendy- i didn't know you were looking for me. what happened?" stan spoke, almost soothingly in hopes to ease his girlfriend's anger.

wendy's blue eyed gaze stared back at him, huffing a bit before she began about what was upsetting her so much. "well. i got my class ranking today. i went from #1 to #3. how is that even possible?" she shrieked, her eyes soon glistening with tears.

at this, you felt your body tense. back now straightened, you glanced down at the thin packet in front of you. on the front page next to your schedule read your class ranking. leaning down to get a closer look, y/n's eyes shot open wider at the #1 printed.

her feet soon began to shift uncomfortably, knocking over her water bottle. of course the bottle smacked annoyingly to the ground in a fury of ringing and clanging, spilling water all over the floor. "fuck," y/n groaned, quickly standing up to move her backpack away from the pool of water.

though of course the water decided to flow forwards, soon drenching the bottom of kyle's backpack. the boy in front of her glanced down at the ground due to the sudden commotion, eyebrows raising when he realized he was too victimized by the water.

y/n yanked kyle's backpack up to prevent it from soaking up even more of the water, feeling dumber than ever. for someone ranked top of her class, she sure was stupid if she couldn't remember where she had left her water bottle. "shit i'm so sorry kyle- i don't know how i forgot it was there. i can go get paper towels, where is the bathroom?" you blabbered, desperate to at least make it up to him as best as you could.

kyle's warm gaze met yours, shaking his head urgently. "hey y/n, don't worry about it! i promise it's fine, i'll go get paper towels with you," he reassured as he took his dripping backpack out of your hands.
