Chapter 2: Abscense and Return

Stark Industries No POV

Wade was sitting in Tony's office in Stark Industries with a suit his size as he was looking at a picture of him and his dad at Disneyland. They went there when he graduated from medical school last year. He then switched the picture of him and Tony taking their first father and son photo. He put them away when he heard footsteps coming.

Stane:<enters with Pepper> hey, Wade.

Wade: Stane.

Stane: I know you're worried about Tony-

Wade: worry is when you feel when you didn't think that you passed an exam. Worry is not the word I would use to feel about my dad's life at the moment. The only family I have left!

Stane: I apologize. The reason I wanted you to come here today is because... since your father is gone.

Wade: he's not-

Stane: missing. I apologize. Stark Industries needs a CEO or at least someone to fill in that gap. Tony put you as his successor.

Pepper; but he's young.

Wade: wouldn't it be better if you were the one in charge? I don't know any of this, I'm a doctor with an invention to heal people, not a business man that sells weapons. I don't know anything of running a company.

Stane: that's why I am here. I'm gonna help you, teach you and mentor you through all of this. It won't be easy, but with my help we'll keep this company strong.

Wade: alright.

Pepper: but Wade is still young.

Stane: it has to be done, Pepper, Tony placed him as his successor if anything happened to him.

Wade: if I do this, will you really help me?

Stane: I will.

Wade: alright. Until my dad returns.

Stane: of course.

Months later

It wasn't easy this past few months for either Tony or Wade.

Wade has made little to no progress on his medigun, his sleeping schedule is all over the place, he has bags under his eyes, half of the time he tries to understand the whole running a company but without learning about it first then he is lost. Stane helps him but at times he feels like Stane is using his signature for other more... evil purposes. Pepper is the one who makes sure Wade eats well, gets some sleep and overall stays healthy as the stress he is enduring shouldn't be endured by a 14 year old. If Pepper wasn't around, he will be in his own kind of hell.

Tony didn't have it easy either. After getting attacked and kidnapped by a Terrorist organization named the Ten Rings, he got shrapnel going to his heart as an electromagnet was placed on his chest by a man named Yinsen. The Ten Rings want him to build a Jericho Missile, like the one he demonstrated to the US Army, but instead he made a miniature Arc Reactor to replace the car battery he was carrying around then he and Yinsen started making armor under the disguise that they were making the missile.

Tony's main motivator to continue working was Wade and being able to see him again.

Yinsen died buying time for Tony's armor to boot up as Tony went outside and used the flamethrowers on his armor to destroy all the Stark weaponry they had on storage as well as fly off but then crashed. He walked for a bit until he was found by Rhodey and taken back to the US after getting him cleaned up and patched up.

Wade was doing some paperwork as he got a breather as they were yes or no questions but they still were some slight complicated questions.
