Chapter Four:
"I don't need your pity, Elena."

Rebekah was the first to wake up from her temporary death. She had no idea what happened, but she assumed it had something to do with those Salvatore brothers. But the blonde couldn't focus of them for the moment, the only things on her mind was: Where is that doppelganger wench? And the fact that Amelia was taking longer to wake up than her.

"Darling, there is no time for dramatics." Rebekah whispered, watching as the colour returned to the originals skin. Rebekah sighed, she didn't want to leave her wife, but making sure this doppelganger didn't escape couldn't wait.

"I love you." Rebekah mumbled. She placed a quick kiss to Amelia's forehead before taking off in the direction she could hear the girls heartbeat and feet against the ground.

Amelia awoke a few minuets later to the sound of Rebekah's voice deep into the cave system. "You little bitch."

The brunette frowned slightly, she had absolutely no idea what was going on. She didn't know what happened to her, but all she knew was that it was very painful.

Once she had recovered, Amelia stood and sped towards the direction she had heard her wife's voice. It didn't take her long to find them, however when she attempted to enter the open area she was stopped by an invisible barrier. She looked down at the girl inside the room with confusion, what on earth was stopping her from entering?

"What is this?" Rebekah asked harshly, stopping Amelia from attempting to enter again by placing a hand onto her shoulder.

"Sorry. No vampires allowed." Elena spoke, clearly out of breath.

"Fine. We'll just have to find another way to kill you. Fun." Rebekah sarcastically smiled, turning and leaving her wife with the doppelganger. She knew that if she offered for her to go with her, that she'd bring up the whole 'wanting to kill Nik' situation, and quite frankly she was delaying that conversation for as long as physically possible.

"Why are you helping her do this? I've done nothing to you." Elena asked as soon as she could no longer see the blonde.

"Don't you get it Elena?" She asked in disbelief. "I'm her wife, she has stood by me for over 900 years, and I her. I would do anything for her, absolutely anything at all. I'm sure you'd do the same for Stefan. Am I correct?"

"Yes." Elena answers, without any hesitation.

"Then you understand why I am here, don't you?" Amelia asked, taking a seat at the edge of the barrier with her back against the wall.

"Because you love her." Elena spoke quietly.

"Yes, and because she is one of the only constants in my life. If I abandoned her now, what kind of person would that make me? What kind of wife would that make me?" Amelia spoke, staring ahead at the cave wall, not seeing how the doppelgangers features softened.
