"Isn't there anything that we can do to help Tumnus?" Peter asks Mr. and Mrs. Beaver. Susan, Peter and Lucy were sitting at the small table in the Beavers' dam, while me and Edmund sat on the stairs listening. "They'll have taken him to the Witch's house. You know what they say. There's few that go through them gates that come out again." Mr. Beaver tell the three. Then Mrs. Beaver comes over with a hot plate and asks anyone if they want fish n' chips before telling Lucy "But there is hope dear. Lots of hope." "Oh, yeah there's a right bit more than hope!" He exclaims before lowering his voice. "Aslan is on the move again." He whispers. I look over at Edmund confused just to see that he is as confused as to this Aslan person as I am. Edmund stands from the step where he was sitting and walks a few steps closer to Mr. Beaver. "Who's Aslan?" He asks. Mr. Beaver then starts laughing "Who's Aslan! You cheeky little blighter." He tells Edmund still laughing as Mrs. Beaver looks at her husband unamused, and taps him on the shoulder. "What?" Mr. Beaver asks and stops laughing, we all looked at him confused. "You don't know, do ya?" Mr. Beaver asks us. "Well, we haven't exactly been here very long." I tell him standing up and standing beside Edmund. "Well, he only the king of the whole wood. The top geezer. The real king of Narnia." Mr. Beaver tries to explain. "He's been away a very ling while." Mrs. Beaver says. "But, he's just got back and he's waiting for you at the stone table!"
While Mr. Beaver tries to explain this to the others me and Edmund look at each other and silently agree that now is the time to leave, to go to the Queen's castle.
Me and Edmund start walking in the deep snow, it was bitterly cold and neither of us had though to bring our coats. I twisted my ankle more than once, and so did Edmund, we were both miserable but the thought of room stuffed with Turkish Delight and the hot drink that she had given us encouraged us to keep moving on.
It was very dark when the castle came into sight, almost midnight. But there where no stars clouds that snowed heavily around us blocked out all light from the sky. Me and Edmund stare up at the huge castle that was made out of ice! It was quite a beautiful sight to see. We then made our way through the gates and into a courtyard. There where statues everywhere some so realistic that you felt that if you touched one it could come to life or that maybe they were people guards maybe that could be ready to attack an intruder at any time. Edmund wiped the snow off of a cougars face before picking up a piece of burnt charcoal and drawing a mustache and a pair of glasses on him. It was quite a funny sight to see!
After he was done we kept walking through the courtyard, stopping sometime to look at a horse or a bear. As we approached the door to the castle on of the statues did start to move! A snow covered wolf that we had stepped over not even ten seconds before pinned me and Edmund to the ground, baring his teeth. "Be still strangers, or you'll never move again!" He threatens us before asking "Who are you?" "I-I'm Edmund!" "A-and I'm Ashlyn!" Both of yelped out. "We met the Queen in the woods and she told us to come back here! He's a son of Adam and I'm a daughter of Eve!" I told the wolf hoping he would get off of us. "My apologies, fortunate favorites of the Queen. Or else not so fortunate." The wolf says retracting himself off of us and walking away through the doors.
