"Brady." Tyler answered.
"Brady?" Morgan's nose scrunched up. "He already sounds like a douchebag."
Tyler laughed while gathering his things so he could carry them inside. Thank God, he didn't go on a big grocery trip otherwise Morgan's car would be even more packed than it needed to be.
The only thing Morgan carried with him was the jerky and his box that he took from his basement as he followed Tyler to the front door. Upon opening, he could see what would have been their dream house years ago. The video games posters, merchandise, they had it all. A little boy's fantasy.
"Wow."
"I know, right?" Tyler sounded so happy he had someone to show this off to. He lead Morgan to the kitchen, and to his surprise, it was clean. Morgan was honestly expecting a mess because of how he once knew Tyler but this man really has matured, hasn't he? Unless this Brady guy does all the cleaning, in which case, Morgan will see the man he left years ago.
"My girlfriend doesn't really like it that much. She doesn't hate it! But, it's not much of her thing, you know?" Tyler said, putting away things into the cupboards. "I'm just wondering if she's going to change some stuff when she moves in."
"When? She's already planning on doing that soon?" Morgan questioned, helping Tyler with his groceries. At least the best he could because he doesn't live here and has no clue where certain things go so he want based on where he's been watching Tyler put things.
"Well, no." Tyler admitted. "But, I think she's going to be the one. We've been dating for a little over a year now." To that Morgan whistled. Hearing that out of Tyler was very impressive considering his past dating history. Then again, it had been six years since Morgan and him spoke. He could have had a girlfriend longer than that while he was away.
"You'd probably like her, Morgan. She's just like me. And, a little like you."
"A little like me?"
"Yeah, just a little."
Morgan was unsure what Tyler could mean by that but he was now more interested in meeting this girlfriend of his. Especially if she's like the both of them.
"Hey, did you get it?" An unknown voice asked behind Morgan. When Morgan turned his head he saw an even bigger man. This man had a voice that sounded so familiar despite not recognizing who this was. He must be Brady, Tyler's roommate. "Yeah, it's over there on the island." Tyler said, not looking back. Brady went over and picked up what seemed to be a glass bottle of coffee. 'Vanilla' it read on the label just a little low from the cap. Brady twisted the cap which let out a very subtle pop before removing it so he could take a sip. Morgan couldn't take his eyes off of him. He doesn't know why he felt like he knew him somehow. Did they go to high school together?
Brady smacked his lips and wiped his mouth with his hand, "Who's the short fella?"
Tyler put away all the grocery bags that they could use later as trash bags before answering him, "This is my old bud, Morgan! Remember that guy?"
Remember? Morgan thought, a little upset that this guy is aware of him.
"Oh, I see." Brady held out his hand. "Nice to meet you. I'm Brady."
"Nice to meet you, too." Morgan said, shaking his hand. Brady had a firm grip on him. And, it tightened a little before releasing. This encounter made Morgan feel a little uncomfortable but a part of him was sure that this guy was just a little stronger than he thought. After all, he appeared to look like he works out in his spare time.
"Morgan's gonna stay with us for a bit since he's visiting." Tyler smiled. They both could see how happy this day has made him so far. If only they had one more person to join them. If only.
