"I love you." Aiden whispered as he looked over at Jamie. He managed to convince him to let him have a break and give him a turn at the wheel. They had been driving for several hours now. And, just close to Jamie's childhood town. He was so eager to see it and get a chance to see why Jamie missed it. Then again, Jamie mostly spoke of his friends and not the town itself. He hoped it wasn't so bad.
Aiden checked on Jamie many times as he drove. He could only smile at his sleeping figure. Or so he thought. Jamie was actually staring out the window with half open eyes. He couldn't sleep despite how much Aiden had wished. He just couldn't shake off this uneasy feeling he had in his chest. And, the night sky wasn't helping at all. It just brought him sadness as he stared longer. It reminded him of all the smoke sessions he had in the past with his friends. For being a couple of kids, they had a lot of problems. Parental problems that is, and school wasn't any help either. The outside, those woods, were their escape from those issues. Now, Jamie had Aiden as his form of escape. But, now he's bringing him somewhere that has haunted him since.
Laying on his side in the passenger seat was not very comfortable. Jamie wanted to shift so badly but he didn't want to give away that he had been awake this whole time.
Aiden reached over and turned on the radio, only keeping it at a low volume. He had it connected to his phone through Bluetooth and on it he was playing some dream pop. The music made Jamie wish he was in the sky. Maybe further than that. He wanted to be in space itself. Out there there weren't any problems, just the beauty of the universe right there. There he could float off for as long as he wanted. Jamie finally shut his eyes and let the music make him feel he was doing exactly that. He pretended that the environment around him was a different setting. One where he could hold Aiden's hand forever and ever. Together, drifting off side by side. Jamie would never tell a soul the things he imagined.
Morgan felt something heavy plop down onto his back. He let out a grunt, furrowing his eyebrows but keeping his eyes shut. The longer he tried to go back to sleep, the weight on his back only sunk deeper and deeper to the point it was killing him. "Wake up, chubs!" It was Tyler, Tyler was crushing him. This irritated Morgan greatly when he opened his eyes to look at the man sitting on him. Tyler's eyes squinted into a smile. It appeared that Tyler could not wait any longer for him to get up. Looking at the clock above the television, Morgan could see that it was only nine in the morning. This only upset him more. But, that anger turned to a bit of fear when he noticed someone sitting on the other couch. Brady.
"Okay, I'm up! Get off!" Morgan swatted at Tyler's leg, at least the best he could. When Tyler got off, he begrudgingly pushed himself up into a sitting position. Letting his shoulders drop, he once again looked at Tyler who still wore a big grin on his face. "Why are you getting me up so early?" He asked, tiredness in his voice.
"We want to go get breakfast. And, Tyler wants you to join us." Brady answered before Tyler even had the chance. Morgan was unsure if Brady was upset that they couldn't leave without him or not. His tone definitely presented that but his body language he couldn't decipher.
"Yeah so get up!"
"I am up!" Morgan used the armrest to stand. His back was killing him and sleeping in jeans was his biggest regret. He just felt uncomfortable all over. And by their expressions, he knew it was too late to change into new clothes. These men were starving. "Where are we going to eat?"
The smell of baked goods filled the air. This restaurant, Morgan hadn't been here in years. It was nothing special but the fact he got to step foot into this place really took him back to when he was a kid. He remembered coming here after church with his grandparents. He wasn't too fond of those memories other than the dining out part. Aside from the smell of the restaurant, it was very loud and a bit crowded. Good thing they didn't have to wait long to be seated, right in the corner inside a booth. Damn did Morgan love the booth seats over the tables.
