2. The Call of Conscience

Her remarks, her warnings... It is in fact scary. I do not have the slightest idea of what some of those words mean. As far as I'm concerned, what she said to me cannot be disclosed to people, if there are even any. Never mind that, first, I have to get up, somehow. A small realization, I can get up now. The sensation of my legs moving, blood flowing through my body— It's simply divine! After what I have just been through, I'll cherish every moment of walking from now on.

As I stood up, I looked into the distance, turning around in a 360 degree angle, I'm still in the same exact place where I came from. An endless void of nothingness. "How fun. Now, where should I start?" I said to myself. I couldn't see a thing, I figured that "her" advice would be useful, but didn't say anything on how I can navigate this place. I signed, just stumped, I had no idea on what I should do. I tried calling for the woman, referring to her as "She" for now. I don't even know who she is! Ah! So many unanswered questions, my brain hurts right now! I sat on the floor, waiting for some kind of magical door to open, it was just a hope though. I don't expect one to open right before my eyes at all!

I placed my face right into my hands, but I heard a faint whisper saying, "A glow, a path, a dream. Tick-tick. North, south, east, west." I was shocked. Maybe she didn't abandon me after all. Glow, path, dream— What? I don't get it at all!!! Wait, search for a glow, clockwise, tick-tick! North, south, east... Yes! I understand! I stood up, turned around clockwise, searching for a glow. I looked to my west, and there it was. The path. The dream? What dream? It is something I clarified to me, but I will understand it somehow. Now, I'll just simply follow that faint glow. I ran and ran to reach but like, is it endless? This makes no sense... Am I just impatient? I don't know, but I'll just go on. I will meet her again, I will!

Around 40 minutes later, I stopped walking for a break, as I was breathing heavily, I sat for a bit. My head faced towards the ground, I heard a gust-like sound. To my surprise, facing up, the glow went away. Out of frustration, I shout, "She, you're completely insane! I never wanted to participate in your little realm! Bring me back! I know you're listening!" I took a deep breath once more, and I finally calmed down a bit. I hit the ground with all my might, the impact was so hard that the ground had some sort of mini earthquake.

Surprise, surprise, surprise. A gateway opened before me, it looked rather suspicious, maybe because of its vibe. A few seconds after came another one right beside it, the second one gave off a better aura than the other. Choosing between which one to go through would probably affect this journey. I knew to myself that this realm isn't as it seems, mostly. What if it's different for this scenario? Or can it be the same? I'm at a loss. I looked back to the message of that unknown whisper. "A glow", it was the glow that I followed here. "A path", must be these two gateways. "A dream", is something I have yet to understand.

Going back to the definition of dreaming, it's something that occurs when one sleep— Wait, sleep! That's it! I might have a dream that may tell me what to do next. Exactly! After that realization in mind, I tried my best to send myself to sleep. I let out a sigh followed by a loud scream. I just wanted to sleep! The space was quiet, but the aura surrounding me was basically tearing me apart! The antimatter-like portal to my left, and a bright heavenly one to my right. Both were somehow calling me to enter. I tried to recall everything, small details that could help me just get some shut-eye, I need to see that dream! I couldn't move again. I was panicking that the same thing that happened earlier may occur once more! I definitely didn't want that.

Trying to "replay" everything I did earlier, I felt that I missed something in the sequence. The amount of thoughts in my mind were far from a few, I couldn't help it. Speaking of thoughts, I got a hold of something. The first time "She" spoke to me... My mind was clear! Clear of any thoughts. I should try that, it will help me relax as well anyway. I emptied my mind, closed my eyes, and slept. I opened it a few minutes later, have I woken up already? All that effort for nothing?

I stood up, looked around, and saw the opposite of that unknown space. It was like the personification of heaven itself! In front of me? A being that looked like it had some godly powers. I wanted to see if that being was "She", my curiosity knew no bounds at that very moment! I was thrilled to learn about the unknown! Just to realize that the being was blurred to my eyes, I just felt a presence, and heard a feminine voice saying; "Go through the gate which represents the essence of one's being. If one selects the incorrect gateway, then one must face the Eternal Consequence." I understood her clearly, but I woke up in the real reality a millisecond after. As I woke up, I quickly stood up, then I reflected on my own essence, whether it was "dark" or "light", I had to make sure of my choice. Deeply contemplating on my decisions, I was able to come up with one. Slowly, I walked towards the gate I chose, not knowing if it was wrong or right. I felt my heart beating extremely fast, I knew that I was nervous to the core. Facing that gate, I took a very deep breath, closed my eyes, and... I jumped into the Gateway of Darkness.
