Margana: To Seek The Truth

PROLOGUE: Year 3050

Wow! I cannot believe how time has gone by, a new century has begun! I partied with my friends all night and we had so much fun. What an amazing way to start a new year, right?! Wished the party could last forever because I had a blast! Everyone left already though, I'm in my own room just checking out the internet. There are so much new trending searches on Seek, the new website that literally everyone uses. "Multiversal Travel Device (MTD) launch, open to the public starting January 1 at Astro HQ." Technology has gone so far since then that surprised me! Lucky me, my home was near the location of the launch. Since it is open to the public, I'll take that as a permit to try it out. I'm nervous, therefore, I let a bunch of people go through it first as guinea pigs before my turn. I'm so excited to try it out yet, I can feel my stomach acid going up my throat at the same time.

January 2 is a day I will remember vividly for the rest of my life. I'm part of the second batch who will travel the multiverse. I was so nervous that I can feel my heart beating so fast as if it's telling me to back out. My palms are sweaty because of anticipation. In my mind, I'm excited to know where I should go first. I was given a list of different verses and they all looked interesting! It seems that everything on this list is safe and I convinced myself that professionals must've tested stuff before releasing it. It made me feel secure and lessened the unnecessary problems inside my head. Based on the guide, time works differently in every verse and I thought of extreme "multiverse lag." I was informed that the multiverses are being ranked including our planet. There are places with high risk but the environment looks super interesting. I wanted to try it but my parents only gave permission to go over to the safest ones. I accepted their condition since it's better than not trying it. I have selected Dimension A-279 since it was closest to Earth, and the connection was more stable. Finally, after waiting a whole hour, it is my turn to be transported to another dimension. 

I've been given a ton of instructions on what to do, how to go back, safety requirements, and details on the dimension I'm going to. They claim that it's the safest, so it's a good choice for beginner travelers. Sadly, I won't be with anyone since no one really chose it. Probably just me and 7 other people, they said. It's fine! Better than nothing, right? I read the guide the staff gave me, which says that Dimension A-279 was similar to Earth, just different ways of living. This means I was gonna be with other humans too! I wonder if my race mutated in another dimension... The thrill, I can't wait! Kinda took a long time, preparations were ongoing, a ton actually. Of course they wanted the best outcome but I just couldn't wait!

It was finally ready! I stood in the middle, I had high hopes and expectations for this. Loud whirring occurred, "Warning" was written on all of the screens. What's happening? Am I in trouble? Is the machine malfunctioning? The MTD was ready to transport me already, I couldn't turn back. My last thought before leaving Earth and moving onto a completely random dimension was scary, I didn't expect myself to think of something. I quietly said under my breath... "Will I survive?"
