I wake up in my office for some odd reason, but shrug it off thinking it was some sort of dream. i look around the room and it looks pretty normal. i sigh in relief until i look at my phone noticing i had bandages on my wrist. "so it wasn't a dream.." i sat there thinking about that kid i saw, wondering if they caught him or if he's still roaming the building. deciding to just finish up my work for today, i shake my head and turn on my computer and start writing.

A couple hours later and i was on my 6th cup of coffee, my hair kind of messy and my eyes sore and heavy. i push my glasses up and rub my eyes sighing. it was rather quiet in the office. i paused and listened for shoe's tapping on the floor, maybe a conversation or two, but nothing. i looked at my door and scratched my neck a little, standing up and walking to the door. i open it and peek my head out of the room. there was no one there, and it was completely pitch black. it smelt like someone had been making coffee so i walked over to the coffee machine and felt the burner, pulling my hand away in shock. i sharply inhale and hold my hand. it was still hot. i look down the hallway and see a light on. i was a bit confused, thinking everyone left already but i guess i was mistaken. i walked to the room peaking my head around the corner just a little. i see Edson, drinking coffee and writing papers. his hair always so soft and and smooth looking.. and his clothes; so tight to his body, hugging every part of him. his face was the best part. those gorgeous deep blue eyes. i didn't question why i was thinking this. it just felt right for some reason. i smile and blush slightly, seeing his face. his eyes, his perfect jawline, and his lips. his lips.. i pause for a second and realize what i was thinking my face becoming more flushed. he looked up from his papers and i QUICKLY pull my head back, hiding on the other side of the wall. i covered my mouth to be extra quiet so he didn't hear me. i heard him get up and my heart started racing. i just stood there and prayed he wouldn't notice me. it was quiet and i didn't know what to do. i heard him grab a couple papers and sit back down in his chair. i very quietly sighed in relief, holding my chest. my heart was practically beating out of my chest. god he is perfect. i peak around the corner watching him work. my body felt hot, like all the blood was rushing to my face. i bit my lip, thinking about his. his lips on mine. such an overwhelming feeling. i couldn't help myself, but before i could continue thinking about that i notice a green haired child sitting next to Edson. Edson softly picked him up and held him as if he were his child or something. the child was always facing away from the door. like he knew someone was there and didn't want to look at them. was that joey? the child i saw earlier? the child leaned his head on Edson, staring at the paper's Edson was holding. Edson looked happy, kissing the child's forehead and putting him back on the floor. he was in some sort of hospital gown instead of regular clothes, his arms covered in bruises and scars. his hair was long and covered his eyes. i felt bad for him, seeing all those injuries, wondering who did that to him. was it Edson? as i was thinking the child looked directly at me but i could not see his eyes whatsoever. i stare back at him, not saying a word. he softly smiled and waved at me. i waved back, smiling nervously. he stood up and approached me which made Edson look up from his papers again. i pulled my head back and hid again, and the kid kind of jumped from the quick movements. he didn't go into the dark and only stayed where there was light, even though he knew i was right there. he looked at me confused and looked back into the room. i heard Edson get up again and i knew he wouldn't just getting papers this time so i quickly but quietly ran back to my office, turning off the lights so he didn't know i was there. i peaked through the crack of the door and saw he was out of the room, just looking down the halls. the kid was at his feet, holding onto one of Edson's legs, still staring directly at me. Edson pulled the child back into his office gently and said "there's nothing to worry about joey. no one is there. you're safe with me." the child giggled happily. "i love you dad" he said. my eyes widened but i couldn't listen any longer. so i got up quietly and left the building.
