The Benefactor [ 4.4 ]

Nova had ended falling asleep well into the night, but was woken up by the rusting sounds around her. At the feel of the empty space beside her, she sat up rubbing her eyes trying to get them to adjust to her dark surroundings.

"What's going on?" She watched as he picked up his jacket from the couch, "Der?" She called out to him.

He shook his head, "Nothing, go back to sleep baby."

"Where are you going?" She questioned.

He walked back towards her, grabbing the keys from the side table, "Got a call from Scott. He wants me to go help out the sheriff at the hospital, I'll be back." He pecked her lips softly for reassurance earning a small smile from the girl.

"Okay." She watched him leave the loft and as the girl went on to try and fall asleep one again, the sound of her phone buzzing under her pillow caught her attention.

She slid her phone across the answer button before bringing it to her ear, "Hello?"

"Scott needs us." The voice of Stiles was hurried.

"Of course." Nova let out a heavy sigh, throwing the covers off of herself, "I'm at Derek's."

"I'll be there in five." He said before hanging up on the girl.

With a tight lipped smile the girl looked at the comfy pillows and bed, "So much for sleep."

She began to get ready, and just as Stiles arrived she sent a text to Derek telling him she wouldn't be there once he returned. When getting into the car of one of her best friends, she tried to ask him what it was that Scott needed from them but he was rather quiet about it.

The two walked in to the McCall residence and upon entering saw a pacing Scott waiting for them, "You didn't tell your dad did you?" He was quick to ask Stiles.

"Like I said, I told my dad everything I could–"

"But you didn't tell him about Liam?"

The witches eyes furrowed with confusion, "What about Liam?"

Scotts eys landed on her then over to Stiles, "You didn't tell her?" He questioned.

"You barely told me!" Stiles said exasperatedly.

"Well..." Nova looked between the two, waiting for any kind of explanation.

Scott looked wary, not ready to tell her, "Better if I show you."

"What did you do with him, anyway?" Stiles asked.

With an awkward face he responded, "He's upstairs..."
