"What are you doing here?" Marisa asked as I walked into the kitchen.
"What do you mean? This is my family house." I asked confused.
"Your never around. You're always off somewhere. What are you always doing?"
"It doesn't matter."
"Yes it does. If it gets you into trouble it does matter."
"Don't worry about me. I'll be fine, I always am."
"I can't lose you again Reg. Where do you stay?"
"I can't say."
"Are you dating someone or something? You are. That's the only thing that makes sense."
"I'm not. My heart is already taken by someone who doesn't want me."
"The only other explanation is that you're a- No. I'm being silly." She began pacing around the room.
"What?"
"Tell me you didn't." Did she figure it out?"
"Didn't what?"
"Did you go back to them? Are you a death eater?" My heart stopped.
"I am on your side. I always will be, I promise." I pushed her hair behind her ear and looked into her eyes.
"Will you tell me where you've been?" She whispered.
"If only I could. I'm helping dumbledore."
"As long as you're careful. I don't want you to get hurt."
"As I said, don't worry about me."
"I'll always worry about you."
"Ready to go?" Sirius asked from the doorway.
"Yeah."
"Where are you going?" Marisa asked.
"Somewhere." Sirius answered and dragged me out.
"You better come back tonight!" Marisa called after them.
"Why don't you tell her how you feel?" Sirius asked.
"It's too dangerous. How can I know how she feels about me? I was gone for fifteen years and there's no way she likes me. Besides it's better this way, if the death eaters found out about how I feel, then she would be in danger. It's safer for her if she never knows." I explained.
"You'll change your mind." Sirius hummed.
~time skip~
I had been practicing using the imperius curse every week. The only person who was suspicious about me was Marisa. I spent all of my free time with her. I had to make sure she didn't realize why I was never around. Although it made it harder to push my ever growing feelings down.
"Regulus! Are you listening to the dark lord!" Bellatrix squeaked.
"Yes I'm listening. I'm going to go with Rodolpus Lestrange and talk to the giants, blah blah blah get them to be on our side and tada we win." I said, feeling bored.
"Good, you'll go tonight and hopefully return tomorrow." Voldemort dismissed everyone and i went home.
"Hey Reg! Welcome back!" Hermione exclaimed.
"What are you doing here?" I asked exhaustedly.
"It's Christmas break." Ron said as he passed by.
"We can practice more today if you want." Harry said.
"Sorry I can't, I'm busy."
"Even right now?" Hermione asked.
"Yes, I stopped by to talk to Sirius and then I'll be leaving."
"Where are you going this time?" Marisa asked, sounding worried.
"To meet up with some old friends." I lied.
"Who? Rosier and Pandora are dead, and Crouch is a death eater." She folded her arms.
"Can't you just trust me for once." I ran my hand down my face trying to wipe away my tiredness.
"I'm just worried is all. You're always so tired and look half dead." Concern filled her gaze.
"I'm fine."
"Why do you always say that? You don't always have to be fine."
"Hey Reg!" Sirius called. I sighed in relief and went over to his brother ignoring the question.
"We need to talk." I dragged Sirius to my bedroom.
"What?"
"I have to go try and recruit giants for Voldemort. I'll be back tomorrow."
"Be safe. If you die I'll make you regret it."
