ATHENA ☆

It's been 21 days since we left Jackson and we've finally made it to Seattle. we are surrounded by woods, i love it. i've always loved nature, flowers, trees, all of it. It's just so calming.

"This hunter was on top of him.... drowning him. And.. Joel couldn't get to his gun." Ellie is telling us about the first time she killed someone. "Jeez... were you scared?." Dina asks, Shes on Ellie's horse, Shimmer. "Well, I didn't even think. I just...I just ran in there, grabbed his gun, and... shot the guy in the face." That sounds scary.

"How old were you?" I ask from ahead of them. "Fourteen, how old were you when you first killed someone?" Ellie asks. Fourteen is really young. "We talking infected?" Dina asks. "No. Fully conscious, non-fungal person."

"Ten" Dina states like it's nothing. Ten in crazy. "Wow, what happened?" I can't tell if Ellie said 'wow' because she was impressed or because she was shocked.

"Guy was coming at my mom. I stabbed him" Dina tells us. Damn, men really suck. "Shit.. you got me beat" Ellie says trying to lighten the mood. "Yeah I'm a real badass." Dina says laughing under her breath.

"What about you Athena? How old were you when you first killed someone." Dina asks me. "Um... I think was ten or eleven." I tell her as I try and figure out where we're going. "damn, you beat me too." Ellie sighs. I almost laugh at her competitiveness.

"What happened?" Dina asks me. "My stupid older brother got into trouble with some street gang, they jumped him and took him... I had to go get him." I sigh out.

"who'd you kill?" Ellie asks. "All of them." i state simply. I know that sounds like a stretch but my father was a firefly and ex military, he got me to train as much as possible for the real world. "Woah" is all Ellie says.

I smile a little at her words. thank god they cant see my face. Suddenly i remember "actually now that I think about it, that's how I met Joel."

"Was he a gang member?!" Dina asks in a shocked voice. I laugh at her question "God no, the gang owed him and Tess money." I tell them. "How'd you meet him?" Ellie asks, she sounds eager to know more about Joel.

"Long story short, he'd broken into the gangs 'hideout' and found me trying to carry my brother home. So he helped me." I remember how scared I was that my brother wasn't going to make it because I was to weak to carry him.

"That sounds like something he'd do" Ellie admits. I nod my head in agreement.

"Were lost." Dina tells me out of the blue as I lead the way. "No were not" I tell her confidentiality, even though she's probably right.

"Yes we are" Ellie pitches in. "no we aren't" I'm panicking just a little. "Fine then - Mr. Navigator, where are we?" Ellie asks in a joking tone. " um... uh, we are..." i see a car and realize we've made it "right here." I continue.

"Cars" is all Dina says. "Yeah, Were getting close. Start keeping an eye out" Ellie tells us. "Don't stress, there isn't patrol out this far." I tell Ellie.

Being back in Seattle feels weird. Like I'm home but unwanted. I hate to say this but I want to run into Abby, I know it's stupid. But I wanna she her again, make sure shes doing okay. I still love her, even though I don't want to.

After a lot of horse back riding and Ellie finding a map. We made it to the Seattle QZ. "whoa. Is that the QZ?" Dina asks in shock. I notice the body's that the WLF left in front of the gate

"Yep. Watch the high spots" Ellie tells us as she hops off shimmer, walks away and starts looking around. Me and Dina follow her.

"It's weird that nothings happened yet" I say truthfully. Something is always happening, its weird.

"What do you mean?" Dina asks me as we walk. "Not to stress you guys out or anything but last time I was here there were at least 2 people stationed" I'm worried that something went wrong, what if somebody is hurt. Wait, why do I care? For a second I forget what team i'm on.

"Could it be Seraphites?" Dina asks.
"No, they'd leave a trail behind, letting the WLF know they were here." Maybe they got called back to base. I start biting at my nails.

"Dina, help me up here." Ellie asks Dina as she motions toward a ladder to high for her to reach. Dina immediately walked over and got on one knee, as she clasped her hands together. Dina boosted Ellie up. I watch as Ellie climbs the ladder.

If I'm being honest with myself, I think I have a little crush on her. The way she talks and acts is just attractive, she's been all but nice to me since we left Jackson. I feel a little stupid but who cares?

I am worried about her through, i've noticed that she isn't eating or sleeping much. She's also been getting nightmares. But what should I expect, she watched Joel get murdered.

Me and Dina walk over to the front gate with the horses. I watch as Ellie jumps from platform to platform. Suddenly Ellie jumps and doesn't fully make it causing a loud crash, someone had to have heard that.

"You good?" "Are you okay?" Me and Dina ask at the same time as Ellie pulls herself up on the platform. "I'm good" Ellie breaths out. I let out a sigh of relief. Ellie disappears to the other side of the wall.

Dina's been acting strange, actually more like pregnant. "I've been meaning to ask you something" I tell her looking forward. "What's up?" Dina asks turning her head toward me.

"Are you pregnant?" After I ask that Dina go's quiet. I look at her, she looks terrified. "Don't worry I won't tell Ellie. If you want a check up let me know" I tell her so she can calm down.

The gate opens and Dina starts to slowly walk through with her head down, i trail behind her. Shimmer and Jim have already gone past the gate. I notice the gate is starting to glitch, if it drops its going to be right on top of Dina.

I run and tackle Dina forward and into the ground just before the gate dropped on her head. The loud sound of the gate hitting the floor scares the living shit out of me even though I expected it.

I immediately get off Dina and check on her. "You okay? Are you hurt?" She looks fine, just a little shaken up. "yeah, I'm okay" I help Dina up. "are you guys okay?" Ellie inspects me and Dina with her eyes as runs towards us.

"We should get going, the whole city probably heard that." I tell them as I get on Jim.
