Flora had her child after nine moons rolled by, she couldn't stay long with her child, after nurturing for a while, she left her mother's house and rented an apartment for herself. She left the child with her mother. Rose who is still schooling always go to check on Flora often, same as their mother
Flora got a job that earns her a fat salary, she started living well and fine. But there was a day Flora was coming back from work, she was so exhausted, as she was about to cross to the other side of the road, a car almost hit her, she screamed and fainted as a result of shock. Immediately she slumped, the man who almost hit her with his car rushed her to the hospital. When she was being examined, the man was able to reach to Flora's mother through her phone, thank goodness it wasn't locked. Mrs Chalmers came around in a jiffy. After Flora was examined, the doctor went to the receptionist.
"Doctor, how is my daughter?" she asked
"Your daughter is fine now, the car didn't hit her after all she just slumped due to shock, so she's now okay"
"Thank goodness"
"I will prescribe some medicines for you now, you should get it at the nearby pharmacy"
He wrote down some medicines on a piece of paper and he handed it over to Flora's mother
"Thank you doctor"
"Don't mention"
"Has she been discharged?"
"Yes, she has been discharged, you can take her home"
" Okay"
Mrs Chalmers expressed words of gratitude to the man who rushed Flora to the hospital. One of the nurses brought Flora to the reception.
"Mummy" she hugged her mother
"Thank goodness you are okay"
"I'm so sorry I drove to your direction" the man pleaded
"Oh, that's so kind of you but I'll take a taxi"
"I insist"
"Don't worry, I'll be fine"
"Okay, can I have your contact"
"Alright". Flora gave the man her contact.
"By the way, I'm Craig"
"I'm Flora"
"Wow, that's a nice name"
She smiled
"I'll call you when it is dusk"
"Okay, see you again".
Immediately the man left the hospital, Floor and her mother went to get the prescribed medicine at the nearby pharmacy. Flora's mother took her daughter to her rented apartment . Flora dropped her bag on the cushion chair and she went back to the corridor her mother also went there sit with her.
"How is my son doing?" Flora asked
"He's doing fine" . She replied
"I guess you should go now"
"Why? I'm not leaving until tomorrow"
"Rose doesn't know how to baby sit"
"That was then"
"Okay, I'll come to check up on him by weekend"
"Yes, you should, he's been longing to see you"
Flora smiled
On a Saturday afternoon as Flora was going to visit her son, Craig called her, she picked it immediately
"Hey, how are doing"
"I'm doing better, thank you so much for always checking up on me"
"No, it's nothing. He smiled. Uhm, I bought two tickets to watch a movie at the cinema, Would it bother you if u follow me?"
"Hmm, no it won't bother me"
"Oh, it's something simple". She said softly
"Okay, see you tomorrow". He hung the call
Flora went straight into her mother's house, her son was delighted to see her, he embraced her tightly with enthusiasm.
"Mum, it has really been a long time"
"My apologies"
"Accepted"
Flora exchanged pleasantries with her mum and sister. After that, Flora's son, Andrew told his mother he has a question for her
"Mum, why can't you live with us"
Flora was dumbfounded, she only opened her mouth to speak but no words came out, her mind travelled right from where she was. Her son tapped her and her mind came back immediately.
"Mum, didn't you hear me?"
" I heard you". She smiled. "Erm, it's as a result of the condition my job placed me so I had to leave you here with granny to take good care of you and I believe she is doing that for you and I
"Okay"
"Andrew, come over here, I've got something for you". Rose teased him away from his mother because it's likely he ask another question from his mother.
"Mum, I don't think I've done the right thing by lying to him"
"You've the right thing, Andrew is not of age so you can't tell him now"
"Okay mum"
Flora Ross to take her leave but a thought dropped in her mind.
"Mum, let me tell my son I'm leaving"
"Alright, go ahead"
Flora went to Rose's room to tell him she's leaving
"Andrew, I'm leaving now"
Andrew moved closer to his mother
"I thought you will stay for some days"
"Oh no, I have lot to do now but I'll make it up to you okay?"
"Alright". Mum what about dad? I've not seen him at all or heard anything about him or is he living with you"
Flora didn't know what to say, but she remembered a lie
"Andrew don't worry, dad will be here someday, he's on his journey to success and he needs concentration.
"Okay mummy, see you again"
