Kyiln was only a kid when his entire clan was wiped out protecting the Lao Wu's village. As he didn't get enough training in his mystic art with his master, his mystic powers, including his transformation into the great crimson dragon, were achieved with the help of Xiao Hua, later on.
But even as a kid, he was exemplary in all kinds of martial arts. A child prodigy, beating all the second-level warriors of his clan. And by now he could've easily defeated his master too. But unfortunately, he isn't alive to see how Kylin has grown up.
On his deathbed, Kylin's master asked him for only one thing. To continue his clan's legacy.
Kylin's clan serves the moon god. All the magic they possess was given by the moon god to look after his descendant that takes birth in the mortal realm, every 100 years. Being a special birth, all kinds of evils want the descendant of the moon. Kylin's clan has to make sure the descendant gets to live peacefully for his 100 years of life in the mortal realm, eliminating all the evils that harm him.
It was easier until a new threat took birth in the period of Wuxie's precedent, which made Kylin's clan lose half of their people and the life of that time's decedent.
The moon god got angry and maybe it was his wrath that Kylin's clan had to bare. From that day they had to face a lot of calamities. The event that killed Lao Wu's family and Kylin's entire clan was also the after-effect of it.
But still, the moon god didn't relieve Kylin's clan from their duty.
That's when Kylin realized. All he thought of the moon god and his descendants were false. The birth of this descendant is just a natural process that keeps happening every 100 years. Just like the birth of a star. It is a big event but doesn't have any effect on anyone on the earth and in heaven. Moon god doesn't care a hair-thin about his descendants but just lets them suffer alone in the mortal realm. Sometimes even without knowing who they are and why they have to go through this hell every time.
When Kylin realized Wuxie is the one on that night, when he was wrapped in that blood-covered silk cloth, clinging to his mother's chest, his heart broke into million pieces. Just thinking about what the future had in store for that innocent life, Kylin shuddered. All he could do to was promise himself to keep this boy safe, no matter what.
But...
.
.
.
"You still can't find where is he?"
While the title of guardian passed onto him, the seal that protected the village from all kinds of evil spirits was reinforced with Kylin's magic core. Meaning only Kylin can undo it and if anyone tries to breach the seal then Kylin will be able to sense.
But as his magic wasn't strong at that time, the seal also had to bore some weakness. Kylin's presence in the proximity of the village becomes a necessity. Or else the village can be located by evil at any time.
And that's what happened.
It wasn't that he left the village knowingly. But he was indebted to Xiao Hua so much that he couldn't sit idle when he was in trouble. But both of them failed to realize it was an evil scheme to draw Kylin out of the village. And when they returned...It was late.
But Kylin could sense Wuxie isn't dead yet.
"His scent is clocked by some powerful black magic," Kylin said with despair. But Xiao Hua was fast to point out the loophole.
"Then we go where you can sense the black magic."
They didn't waste a second more but dashed through the forest going beyond leaving the green lushes behind. And as the sun retreated Kylin find himself halting before a quiet familiar place.
