I was walled by Navya and Divya throughout the party. Alisha was standing on the same corner of the balcony and was constantly looking at my activities. It was a perplexed, directionless emotion, I was waiting for her to come to me, while at the same time I didn't want her to. I just don't know what the heck was into me that time.
Suddenly, the music was played, but the ears could only hear the heart screaming for Alisha. She was standing on the other side of the living room. She was still gazing at me. Our eyes were hardly being distant. The heart had become restless and this time the mind too favoured its enemy. Eventually, after the cake cutting ceremony, I stood beside her. We were not looking at each other but somewhat knew what was going around. The moment I looked at her she looked on the other side while the moment she looked at me I looked on the other side. It wasn't that bad. The eyes weren't given a chance to coincide but the heart met. After a long struggle and a huge lot of mess, they met but not for too long. We soon got distant again. Navya and Divya caught my hand and took me to the room, where mom and Ginni masi were waiting to take pictures with me. Ginni masi had called a photographer and she wanted every moment of the evening to be captured. I called Alisha to join the venture. We took many photos together. This was the time we smiled together, even we were
surrounded by so many people. There were many people gathered in the living room. So, Alisha decided to move to the other room. Unluckily, I had to stay there.Caterers started serving food to everyone, while I was with my cousins, Ginni Masi and my mom. Ginni Masi and mom got a bit tired and they lied on the bed, to take some rest. And I was sitting on the chair, Navya and Divya were chatting with me and Alisha was busy talking with some other new people (I mean new friends).
"The party is going great," I said to start a conversation as all of them were sitting silent. And I wanted to speak. Not with them obviously, but yeah, I wanted to speak.
"Yeah, so far, so good..." Ginni masi said in a tired voice as if she was the boss. Oh, I forgot, she was actually the boss; the host of the party. I didn't say anything to her beyond this, because by this time, the heart was busy creating a special folder for the memories of Alisha.
Suddenly Navya asked, "Who is that girl? She had kept an eye on Raj since the beginning." I was drinking water from the bottle and when I heard this, I couldn't stop to blow the water out of my mouth. "What...?" I exclaimed and tried to control my smile, or better call it a blush, as it was a good sign for me. "She is so right." Ginni masi overreacted. "Maintain a safe distance from her. She is very fast. Just check her phone for once. How many boys text her?
She has many boyfriends." Ginni masi got up on the bed and asserted. I didn't like her affirmation about Alisha. I asked Ginni masi to give me her phone. She gave me, asked, "What are you gonna do with this?" I replied with a smirk. I opened her WhatsApp and read, "Vikash Kumar says that you look very beautiful in your profile picture. Sanjay Singh says, hello bhabhi. How are you? You have forgotten us. Adarsh Shrivastava says, why don't you meet us?" I looked at her face. It had turned pale. I said, "What if I tell about them to your husband?"
"What will happen? Nothing... he knows about this. I am not doing anything wrong. All of them are my friends and relatives. My husband also has many female contacts on his phone. I never objected because I trust him." Ginni masi said while her temper was rising with each word that came out of her mouth.
I started smiling and said, "Relax Ginni masi. I am not trying to put a stain on your character. I know you are pure like Ganga. What I want you to know is that when you don't like people pointing at your character, how could you do the same to any other girl just because she has male friends. This is not done at all." Ginni masi rose her eyebrows and said, "I'm sure that bitch has done some magic on you. You have also become blind with the glare of her beauty. She does not respect her elders. She has very bad language. She goes out with boys. Now tell me which decent girl does this. Her clothes... did you see how short they were in the morning."
