I sat into the car and waved to all of them. I was moving to the airport.
Mumbai was not too far now. I was very happy, probably the happiest moment of my life. The mind and heart were just busy in innovating a method, which could surprise Alisha the most. But at the height of the excitement, nothing could be concluded. I just felt that I had got all I ever wanted. My love was officially mine now. I couldn't wait to reach there and just open myself before the gorgeous girl. I was still on the road. The snapshots of the fun moments that we had spent together; they were creating nostalgia in my mind. With overloaded of excitement and cheer I told the driver to boost up and drive a bit faster.
The driver said, "Sir, come out of your imaginations and open your real eyes. We are budging in the traffic. This is going to take much time."
I looked outside consciously, there was bad traffic on the road. I said,
"You must have taken the other way to the airport."
"This is the only way to reach the airport sir." the driver said.I had to confront Alisha as soon as possible. I wasn't able to handle this huge wave alone. Before it could turn out to be a tsunami, I just had to collaborate with the ocean of Alisha and share the waves with her. But for now, I was missing my flight. Although, I hadn't booked a ticket and there was no flight missing but the scheduled flight, which I had targeted to be on would be leaving soon. I asked the driver, "How far is the airport from
here?"
"A kilometre may be" the driver gave an approximate idea.I pretended to do some calculations in my mind and then said, "Ok, I will be walking to the airport. Just take a U-turn and go back home."
"You can go by the next flight. Why so desperate?" the driver said in a teasing manner. I was actually in a very happy mood, so I entertained him saying, "This is not my desperation. This is the call of love..." I took my bag from the back seat and got off the car. The driver was smiling and was thinking the worse he could. I started walking to the airport, dodging the cars and crossing the narrow spaces between the vehicles. Jumping over the bikes and making many such jigs.Eventually, I reached the airport. There was no much time left in the flight to take off. Somehow, I convinced the person making the boarding passes and rushed to the plane.
Eventually, I was parallel to the clouds. Even after being so late I had got a window seat, which was itself a miracle. The view out of the window was just awesome. The clouds designed portrait of my thoughts. The thought contained only one picture and that was of mine getting married to Alisha.
Alisha was ruling all over my mind and my heart. My cheeks actually had started hurting due to the constant smile on the face, but even then, the smile wasn't suspended. The train of thoughts was suddenly applied emergency brakes on.
"What if Alisha's dad told her everything about the surprise?" this was what came to my mind. I knew my mom or dad won't say this to her but I was not sure about Alisha's parents, as I hadn't told anyone that, this was supposed to be confidential until I capture the reaction on Alisha's face after this surprise. I was worried if this surprise would fail. But then the heart said, "So what if you fail to surprise her? At least you will be able to celebrate the moment with her, cheer up dude..." With this thought in mind, I just relaxed and landed safely in Mumbai.I took a cab and reached my apartment. It was six in the evening when I rang the doorbell of my house.
Alisha opened the door. Her eyes bugged out looking at me. The upset face of hers was gifted a wide grin. She embraced me tightly at the door itself. She held me tightly and just held me for a while until I said, "Can I come in?"
She left me, but the smile was still attached to her face. She invited me in, I kept my bag on a single sofa and sat on the long one. I was waiting for her to ask about the results of the 'peace' meeting held at my house in Bangalore, but she didn't. She came and sat beside me, but wasn't asking anything yet. I
assumed that my surprise was spoiled. She already knew everything. After a few seconds, she asked, "Wanna have some coffee?"
