Chapter 8 - ladder

As I got home still in shock Quinn answered the door for me, "y/n? Where were you?" She asked. I thanked her, "I was at the station trying to get more information and I had to limp back since I fell" I showed her my leg and she gasped.

"I'll help you rewrap it" she took my hand and led me to the bathroom as she finished she looked guilty but completely changed her expression. "Tell me if that goes undo I'll be with my boyfriend if you need me" I nodded and she left.

As I went into the kitchen I saw Chad, Mindy, Sam, and Tara waiting for me. "Finally the scream queen is here" Mindy joked, I laugh and sat down with them.

"As I was saying we're a team Sam" Chad smiled and I was confused I was about to ask but Mindy covered my mouth. "I'll explain it later to you sweetie" I signed.

Mindy grinned at Sam, "we are the core fucking five" I laughed at the nickname and Chad agreed. "Thank you! Do you hear that y/n? That's our name" I chuckled.

Sam and Tara joined in and we went silent, I grab Sam's hand and smiled. She looks down, "I've been sleeping with 'cute boy' from across the hall" I slam my hand across the table. I knew she had a thing for him but I didn't know she was SLEEPING with him.

We all agreed that something was up and I laughed, this team was great. They were like my family, well they are. I love them all deeply with my heart..

"We should high-five or something" Chad stuck his hand out and we all giggled I stuck up mine and we cheered.

Sam got a call and I realized it was 'cute boy' we all gave 'ah' and 'oo' to Sam and started to mock her, I took the phone. "Hello.. oh hey" I pretended to be Sam and Mindy laughed.

Sam took the phone back, "it's fine I'll call him back" she chuckled. That's when I heard Quinn getting it out with her boyfriend. Chad looked up and I started to bash out laughing. Tara joked, and Chad awkwardly chuckled. That's when my phone dinged and so did the others.

I raise a brow and pick up my phone to see an airdrop, I accepted it and quickly stood up. We all stared looks and ran as fast as we could. "Let's go!" Chad yelled.

Anika got up as well and we went to Quinn's door. Suddenly everything went silent.. we stood there for about a minute before Mindy opened her mouth, "run"

The door broke open and Quinn was dead lying on the floor she fell on me and I screamed. Ghost face pushed her out and everyone started to run, I stood up quickly and ran out.

A few seconds later Sam and I realized we left Mindy and Anika so we run back, I see ghost face-attacking Anika so I go up to him and get on his back punching him.

I do a move Kirby taught me and have his head between my thighs I twist and fall to the ground bringing ghost face down with me.

I pick up Mindy while Sam gets Anika and we run to a bathroom, the door was closed by Ghostface so it was our only option to go to Quinn's bedroom.

Sam locked the door and I went for the bathroom, as I did I look over and see Quinn's boyfriend brutally murdered, I gasped and quickly lock the bathroom door. Mindy and Anika were crying from pain and I tried to call the police on my phone.. but the internet was cut off.

Ghost face almost barged in but Mindy, Sam, and I blocked the door with a dresser. He tried to kick, punch, and break, the door but thankfully it didn't work.

This one was either a teen boy or just a strong girl. I went to Anika. "Shh, it's okay Anika we're gonna get you some help" I had my hand put pressure on her stomach and she whimpered.

I knew some form of aid, thought I wasn't the best at it I tried to keep my hand on her stomach while also calming her down.

I see Sam's boyfriend call out for her, "SAM!" I point to the window and she locks eyes with him. I Saw him bring out a latter and put it across both their windows. 'Shit, was we really going to do this?'

"You have to come one at a time!" He yelled and Sam nodded. She looked at all three of us, "you two go first!" Mindy shook her head and Anika couldn't really process it.

Sam looked at me, "y/n! Fucking go! I'm not losing you" before I could protest she pushed me and I had no other choice but to agree. As I climb out the window I looked down and froze. "Don't look down! You got this!" Danny yelled and I listened.

I quickly but also slowly climbed, Danny kept on pushing and giving me positive words. I started to go faster and he grabbed my hand. Sam came next and after Sam, Mindy and Anika fought over who was going next.

Mindy came in 3rd and while it was Anika's turn she quickly got onto the ladder as she did I smiled thankfully and that's when I saw Ghostface appear in her room.

We all yelled for her to go fast and she slowly went, as she turned her head Ghostface stuck his knife in the window and started to shake the ladder. First was slowly but then he teased her and went faster.

Mindy cried and I was yelling at Anika, I was so fucking stressed. "I don't wanna die!" She screamed and I stuck out my hand for hers to reach.

Sam got a hold of her hand and that's when Ghostface tilted her sideways on the latter, I don't wanna die!" She cried out loud and he started shaking faster, that's when my breath stopped.

Anika fell and it was like slow motion, the sweet girl fell to her death and I could hear her guts spatter out.. for once in a while I cried as hard as I could.

Mindy was sobbing and Sam looked frightened. I looked at Ghostface and he stared directly at me.

I cried and locked eyes with his, I wasn't sure if it was the same one I kissed but.. he felt familiar, I couldn't put my finger on it but his smell.

As I was thinking he tilted his head and for a second took in what just happened, Mindy was reaching out of the window sobbing while Sam just stood there in disbelief.

Ghost face didn't even look down at Anika.. he grabbed the same knife and left the room without a trace.

As the ringing in my ear stopped Mindy sobbed louder and Sam hugged her tight. Danny held his head and stared down at the girl I once knew, was dead.

I stared at Anika below and cried harder.
