The bus stops in town and the students all get off of said bus, before walking into town except for Akuma and Wednesday who see a white part of a brick wall which gets the duo's attention causing them to walk over to the wall which Xavier was standing in front of.
Wednesday: Why are you staring at a blank wall?
Xavier: It wasn't blank last Outreach day.
Akuma: Let me guess, normies?
Xavier sighs as Akuma puts his hands in his pockets.
Wednesday: Are you still stewing because we rejected your invitation?
Akuma: Wait a damn minute. What motherfucking invitation?
Wednesday: The invitation to join the nightshades?
Akuma: Oh yeah, OK.
Xavier: I did go out on a limb for the both of you.
Wednesday: Please. We're just cannon fodder in whatever Cold War you're waging with Bianca. We have more pressing issues.
Xavier: Yeah, like what?
Wednesday: Tracking down the monster that killed your roommate and got terrified of my boyfriend.
Xavier: Oh my god. For the last time, Rowan was expelled. *jealous, thoughts* Wait boyfriend?
Akuma: Even if there was a god currently listening in to us right now? They wouldn't do a damn thing because everything's going to hell.
Xavier: Everyone saw him leave.
Akuma: Have you spoken to him since?
Xavier: I texted him a few times, but I never heard back.
Akuma: That's good. Real good, OK so listen if the killer was taking souvenirs like any other serial killer, they would take the phone because we have the picture, Rowans glasses, and now you need to text a completely made up story. If he replies, we have a lead to a degree anyway.
Wednesday smirked, and Xavier looked at Akuma like he was crazy.
Xavier: I understand you would know a lot about this type of stuff, but you're not needed any more, so maybe act like a normal person.
Akuma: I can't act like a normal person, because I fuckin' ain't one!
Xavier: I just figured he wanted Nevermore in his rearview mirror.
Wednesday: Or he's dead.
Xavier: I don't know why you care. It's not like either of you knew the guy.
Akuma: We're not sure why you care so little.
The trio began to walk away while still talking.
Wednesday: People can dismiss us and make a million other excuses, but we're not gonna stop.
Wednesday pulls out the book she and Akuma stole from the nightshades' library, as Xavier looks at the book.
Xavier: Oh, great. I guess you can add "thief" to your resumes.
The trio stop walking as Wednesday flips to a specific page.
Xavier: I don't know what the big deal is about an old Nightshade's journal, anyway.
Akuma: You know, your jealously is very visible.
Xavier: I'm not jealous.
Akuma: You say that, but your body, and also your eyes, say otherwise.
Wednesday shows the two pages of Akuma shirtless, with his eyes ruby red, and his markings, showing with four eyes, behind Wednesday, in front of a burning school with Crackstone on the left page.
Akuma: You didn't seem surprised when I showed you this last night. More like confused.
Wednesday: You've seen it before, haven't you?
Xavier: Yeah. A couple days before the harvest festival. It was open of Rowan's desk. I assumed he stole it after we kicked him out of the nightshades. Then I confronted him about it, and he kind of went ballistic on me.
Wednesday: He threw you against the wall with his telekinesis.
Xavier: Yeah. How did you know that?
Wednesday: Lucky guess.
Xavier: It's weird that you and a terrifying cursed spirit are in this. This journal is like, what, 30 years old? What the hell is crackstone doing in the picture with you and the cursed spirit?
Akuma: I personally know the cursed spirit.
This comment gets both Wednesday and Xavier to look at Akuma.
Wednesday: *thoughts* He's talking about both him, and his dad. But he's not wrong.
Xavier: How?
Akuma: Friends.
Xavier nods, as Wednesday puts the book back into her backpack, which also has Thing inside of it.
The Nevermore students walk into the middle of town where there were bleachers, and a stand with a microphone in front of said stand. A stage with white chairs on the left side of the stand.
Every one of the students sit down, with Wednesday being at the very end of the second row on the very last seat. Akuma was stood beside the bleachers, standing beside where Wednesday is sitting.
The Mayor gives a speech before Weems also gives a speech, sending the students off.
