London Calling

London was as dreary as she remembered but there did appear to be at least some attempt of sunshine forging apart the clouds as they stumbled out of the ministry looking as if they had come from a different century.

Theseus still had Dumbledore's arm in his grasp, holding it tight enough to be a threat and beside him stood Newt who was the only one who looked exactly as he usually did, although he wasn't exactly unfamiliar with such travel.
"We may want to take the tube" She heard Newt murmur and there was a general mumble of confused exhaustion "Apparition during rush hour can be a smidge risky and I don't believe I've had enough sleep to be proficient at obliviating"
"Where's the nearest station though?"
Lally asked and Newt just started loping off towards where a bus was parked, causing a delay in movement from everyone else until finally they were moving again.

So much had happened in the past few days Tina wasn't entirely certain how much of how she was still going was based on adrenaline alone. She and Newt had kissed, they'd been jumped by acolytes, she and Newt had kissed, they'd met wonderfully odd people, she and Newt had kissed, she was definitely in trouble at work...
It was all swaying about in her mind, rolling and tumbling together into such a knot of emotions she wasn't sure if she wanted to laugh or heave. She was however certain that after the week they'd have that if the London Underground was anything like the Subway she would not enjoy the journey.

When they finally found a set of steps leading to seemingly nowhere, a small red sign heralding the point, she hesitated along with the rest of the Americans watching as Newt, Theseus, Dumbledore and Bunty disappeared into the dimly lit darkness
"I aint been on a subway for a bit"
Jacob muttered kicking a pebble off of the top causing it to go skidding down the thousands of steps, they all watched it disappear before Queenie murmured
"No. Me neither"
"Do you reckon they all are so-" Tina began and Lally supplied seamlessly
"Dingy?"
"Yeah... I mean I thought New York was bad but..."
"Are you Americans coming?"
They heard Theseus shout and Jacob stood aside with a gallant smile
"Ladies first?"
"Save it, Kowalski." She muttered and with Tina leading the way to thump down the stairs.

It did smell strangely sewer-like and by the time they got to the platform, the temperature had risen to a dank and humid heat, making her grimace as she joined the men waiting patiently on the platform. Newt chanced a glance, and seemingly met with her stare smiled slightly.
"Surely some of the sights of New York are more repulsive than this"
"They definitely are... I just wasn't expecting it from 'Modern' London"
"As usual it's the difference between the wealthier areas, I fear my local station isn't much better"
His smile became slightly more strained before she tentatively laid a hand on his arm, the platform steadily filling around them.
"Newt it's fine. I'm just being-"
"Grumpy 'cause she's tired"
Queenie supplied from behind causing her to roll her eyes, Newt's eyes however were twinkling with mirth.
"Something I'm rather familiar with I believe"
He then smirked, a look she both loved and loathed, causing her to huff. The action ruffling the hair that had fallen into her face.
"I don't get... grumpy-" Seeing Newt's unchanging expression as he looked ahead, the sound of an impending train growing, she added "Normally." He chanced a look at her, her view of him growing hazy as her hair was whipped up by the approaching train.
"Of course not."

She went to protest but the train came rumbling into the station, the doors clunking open as operatives came hurtling out along with what appeared to be most of London. Still, everyone stood waiting until the last person finally pushed through before swarming on.

As expected the carriage was full. Standing room only so as a matter of survival they tried their best to cling to the few poles sticking up in order to stay upright. Looking around Tina saw that some things don't change, no matter where in the world you are, as every commuter had the same glazed-over bored expression as the train jolted before picking up speed. It was also almost eerily quiet, someone was admonishing a small child for running around and a distant sound of snoring coming from- somewhere but other than that everyone was sort of moodily staring at each other.
"Well this is charming"
She murmured and Theseus tittered beside her
"Incredibly glad for apparition ill tell you, well floo travel anyway"
