Phil and Rob spent the next few days in the village, recovering from their injuries and helping with the preparations for the upcoming festival. They worked together to build and decorate the stalls and even managed to sneak in a few stolen kisses in between their tasks.

As the day of the festival approached, the excitement in the village grew. People arrived from all over, bringing food and drink, and setting up their own stalls to sell their wares. The air was filled with the scent of roasted meat, the sound of music and laughter, and the sight of colorful banners waving in the breeze.

Phil and Rob had decided to enter the festival's archery competition, hoping to win the grand prize of a beautiful golden bow. They spent hours practicing, and their efforts paid off when they both made it to the final round.

The competition was fierce, and the two men found themselves facing off against each other. Phil took the first shot, his arrow striking the target dead center. Rob stepped up to take his shot, but his arm began to tremble, and he couldn't hold the bow steady.

Phil noticed his lover's distress and put his hand on Rob's shoulder, silently encouraging him to take a deep breath and try again. Rob closed his eyes, steadied his arm, and released the arrow. It flew straight and true, striking the target just a hair's breadth away from Phil's arrow.

The crowd erupted in cheers, and Phil and Rob hugged each other tightly, overjoyed at their victory. They were awarded the golden bow and a trophy, which they proudly displayed on their mantle back in their hut.

As the sun began to set on the festival, the villagers gathered around a large bonfire to celebrate. Phil and Rob danced together, their bodies swaying to the music as they gazed into each other's eyes. It was then that Phil knew, without a doubt, that he was in love with Rob.

He took Rob's hand and led him away from the crowd, into a quiet clearing surrounded by trees. There, he took a deep breath and spoke the words that had been weighing on his heart.

"Rob, I know we've only been together for a short time, but I can't imagine my life without you. I love you more than anything in this world. Will you be mine, forever?"

Rob's eyes widened with surprise, and then a huge grin spread across his face. "Of course, Phil! I love you too!" he exclaimed, throwing his arms around Phil's neck and kissing him passionately.

They spent the rest of the night cuddled up together, watching the stars twinkle above them. Phil knew that their journey was far from over, but he was filled with hope and happiness, knowing that he had Rob by his side.
