Confession
"I loved Pieck but... ."

As Jean's car made its way into the parking lot of your apartment complex, you couldn't help but fix your gaze upon him. You watched intently as he pulled the car into a vacant spot, the sound of the engine coming to a halt filling the air. As you reached for the seat belt, your attention still fixed upon him, you couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking. "Jean," you called out to him, noticing the pain etched on his face. As he turned to face you, his gaze met yours, and you could feel his pain as if it were your own. "Are you alright? If you need someone to talk to or just be with, I'm here for you. How about you come over tomorrow night?" you spoke in a gentle voice, hoping to offer him some comfort. He let a small smile appear on his face, he found solace in the sound of your voice. "Okay, thank you."
As you saw your friend's face fall, you knew something was bothering him. Without any hesitation, you leaned in and planted a gentle kiss on his cheek, hoping to offer some comfort. "It's okay," you said, your voice soft and reassuring. Your grip on his hand tightened, and you made eye contact, wanting to make sure he understood how much you cared. "Just remember your worth, okay?" You couldn't help but break into a small smile, the warmth of your words hanging in the air. He looked surprised, but you could see a glimmer of hope in his eyes. "I will," he said, his voice shaky but determined. "Good," you say before grabbing your purse and exiting the car.

No words could describe the way your heart hurt for him. He didn't deserve it.

It was the next day, and you were in the kitchen making yourself a cup of tea. You felt your phone buzz in your back pocket: it was Jean.

Horseface
Hey, I'll be 10 minutes

You
Sounds good.

You couldn't help but smile as you anticipated your upcoming meeting with Jean. Just then, Hitch emerged from her room and into the kitchen. As you made your way towards her, the cup of tea in your hand, she looked up and beamed at you. "Hey, Y/N," she said warmly. "Are you headed to work?" you asked, looking in her direction. "Yeah, did Sasha already leave?" Hitch questioned. You flashed a warm smile at her and took a sip of your freshly brewed tea. "Yeah, it was a while ago," you replied. As you settled into the couch, she asked, "Oh okay. Are you doing anything this evening?" You hesitated for a moment before answering, "Uh, yeah. Jean is coming over." Your voice trailed off as you thought about the plans for the evening.

Hitch's smile widened, deciding to tease you, "Really? Already going to hit on Jean, not even less than 24 hours since he and Pieck broke up?"
Your eyes widened, Jean hadn't told you anything about that yet. "They broke up? How do you know?"
"Eren's told Mikasa and she told me, they had a pretty heated argument about something. Jean didn't tell him in detail about why," she shrugged as she continued. "But, I assume it must've been pretty bad."
"Yeah..." you exhaled, gripping the cup of tea. You decided not to tell Hitch about the actual reason as that was something for Jean to tell. "Well, I'll see you tomorrow. I'll be back later," Hitch gave you a little wave before leaving the apartment.

It wasn't long until you heard a knock at the door, you got up from your seat and walked over to open the door. As you look up to meet Jean's gaze. He was dressed in a stylish black crew-neck sweater, with the sleeves neatly rolled up to his upper arm. He stood tall, with an air of confidence and poise, and had his hands tucked into his sleek black jeans. The outfit suited him perfectly, accentuating his sharp features and giving him a sophisticated look. Despite his seemingly happy demeanour, you could still see the looming pain in his eyes. Jean met your gaze, analyzing you from head to toe. As he looked at you, he couldn't help but admire the adorable little pyjama shorts you were wearing. It was a soft shade of pink that complemented your figure. Your grey sweater, although a size too big, looked cosy and comfortable, with its long sleeves that partially covered your hands. And to top it off, your cream-coloured fluffy slippers added a touch of cuteness to the entire ensemble.
