⇄ ◃◃ ⅠⅠ ▹▹ ↻Robin was sitting in her office, preparing for the presentation. Hyping herself up, Robin repeated her lines on loop until she got it.
She walked to the office where the colleagues will meet. Ms Choi and mr Han were waiting there, pens and notebooks ready. All except the chairman weren't there.
"Where is he?," ms Choi questioned. Robin shrugged. "I don't know, he's always late to be honest," she spoke, not realizing Han Seo had arrived right when she spoke her words. "I'm not always late, I had something important to do," he panted, bumping into Robin's back. He apologized deeply, and sat down next mr Han.
She started setting up the PowerPoint on TV, lighting up the screen. Robin cleared her throat, and started giving the presentation.
. . .
Two minutes had passed, and she finally finished it. The chairman put his thumb up. "That was excellent, good job! It's a good point of view, and brief," Han Seo rambled on about the good points and gave a few tips. Ms Choi rolled her eyes and mr Han gave a few strong points about it too. Robin smiled, blood rushing to her cheeks, as she had never been complimented like this before.
She looked at her wrist watch, and saw that it neared 14:40. The person is going to be kept waiting, so she decided to leave earlier than usual. "Uh, I don't feel really well, I have to go home," Robin spoke making up an excuse to get out of here. "Are you sure? You looked fine just a second ago," Choi suspiciously questioned her. Robin gripped her stomach, slowly nodding, trying to keep up the sick act.
"Do you need me to bring you home?," Han Seo quickly asked worriedly. "No, no... I'll be fine. My friend can pick me up anyways," Robin lied, slowly but hastily walking to the elevator, going down to the garage.
. . .
Robin drove to the spot where Geumga plaza should be, and stepped out of the car. Robin walked up to the building hesitantly, opening the doors. She looked around for any person, but no one to be seen, or so she thought. Robin thought she saw something moving in the corner of her eye.
She turned her head around, and saw a girl playing piano with her hair completely blocking her face, like that one creepypasta. The girl abruptly turned around her head, revealing her face eerily. Robin flinched, as if she had seen a ghost. As Robin walked she eventually saw someone creepily smile with his scissors, holding up a turtleneck, then cutting off the neck. She quickly ran away to what seemed to be an elevator.
When it opened, she saw a man standing with his head down, playing with a lighter. Robin flinched and lost balance, crawling away backwards. "I'm sorry! I'll leave! Leave me alone!," she yelled, thinking she was in a criminal facility. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you. I'm sorry if the people scared you," the man apologized, bowing down. Robin got up, dusting off her clothes.
"Wait, are you the person that texted me?," she asked backing off a little. "Indeed, I am. My name is Vincenzo Cassano," he finally revealed his face, bringing back memories to Robin. "You're joking... I thought...," she trailed off. Vincenzo holds up his hand for her to shake. "We meet again, Hirai Ray," he spoke with a slight grin. "What do you want?," she asked, leaving his hand hanging. "Join us. Babel isn't worth it," Vincenzo spoke. "I'm sorry, but I can't," Robin replied.
"Do you value your life?," he asked her.
"What?," she mumbled.
"Do you?," he repeated sternly, walking closer until she backed up against the wall.
"I do," she answered.
"Then leave Babel behind. If you want to live," he spoke.
"But-,"
"Me and my group will protect you from any other harm," he added.
"How can I possibly believe you?," Robin responded.
"I've never lied to anyone like that before. Trust me. Stay here for a day and you'll see," Vincenzo said.
"I'm not that sure..." she trailed off, thinking about it.
"Fine. I'll stay here but only for a day," she remarked.
"Good. I'll show you our office," he beckoned, walking to the elevator.
. . .
Vincenzo opened the door for her, Robin hesitantly walking into the office. There she saw a quite familiar face. The girl turned up her head, showing her face. It was cha-young. Next to her was an unfamiliar man with glasses. "Cha-young? What are you doing here?," Robin asked. "I work here, I am a lawyer against Babel," she answered, "that's why I'm busy so much," she continued.
"Hi, I'm Nam," the unfamiliar man waved. "I'm Robin Katuzki. Nice to meet you," she shaked his hand with a smile. "So, Robs, who do you work for?," cha-young suddenly asked, making Robin nervous. She tried making up an excuse."I... I'm a chef," she lied. For some reason, cha-young bought it. "Oh, so is Toto! Maybe you can make something for us in his restaurant," cha-young exclaimed excitedly. "But to the point. I think it's time for you to know," she continued.
"We are working against corruption, and it would be great to have another helping hand. You're good at investigating, right?," she questioned. "Yeah, I am," Robin answered. She had another talent, which was investigating. But after a few years the talent wore out a bit.
"This might come over as a shock for you, but the chairman you know isn't the real chairman of Babel," cha-young said. "What? Han Se- I mean Jang Han Seo isn't the real chairman!?," Robin replied, surprised. "He is not, and we are currently trying to find out who the real chairman is. All we know, is that his name is Jang Han Seok," Vincenzo added. "We've been thinking, and maybe you could help us with kidnapping some of the hitmen he has sent to ask them questions about who he really is, you're one of the best lawyers in Seoul after all," he finished.
"Kidnapping!?," Robin shouted. "Shh, not so loud," cha-young shushed. "How are you so sure we won't get caught?," Robin asked. Vincenzo opened his lighter. "Don't worry, I'm really good at covering up crimes," he spoke. "I forgot," she said. "So do you agree?," he walked closer to her in form of intimidation, but cha-young still winced at the sight in jealousy.
"Alright. But only if it won't end up the last time we saw each other, four years ago," she agreed.
"Very well. Let's start preparing, it's gotten quite late," Vincenzo spoke, looking at his wrist watch. It neared 18. "Should I bring yo-,". "I can bring myself home, thank you for the offer," Robin cut him off, before walking out of the office to the exit.
