Unfortunately, Jude's plan worked, but worked unsuccessfully.
We'd lost each other a few times, swimming and I mean literally swimming and flowing smoothly across the snowy floor. We weren't allowed out with this much snow, and luckily the pharmacy had another way in, so we were fine. It was dark through the snow, so we prepped torches.
"Fuck, that was cold," Jude shook coldly as we got out, the snow now clearly knee deep. "There'll hardly be any matches in this weather."
"I agree," I climbed up the ladder as I opened the latch, and pushed Jude in. "Quick, I think some police are spotted us. I heard a few bangs in the station. Jude!" I gasped as he climbed down, and grasped my waist as he shut and locked the latch. "Warning next time, Brummie." I turned red as I turned to the reception. There wasn't anyone expect for us.
"Afternoon, dears," An old lady popped out of a door as I smiled. "Ah, Jude. Nice to see you again."
"Hi, Miss Thomas," He gave her one of his best smiles as I turned away, blushing. "So, do you have anything that cures flu?"
"Well, I do have some Tylenol and Advil over here that'll help her," Miss Thomas took out two bottles, as she put them on the counter. "It just costs about ten euros, we're not making much in this weather."
"Thanks-"
"I'll pay," Jude grinned at me before placing his card on the counter, and slipping a hand around my waist as he glanced at the latch. "So, anything?"
"No, we've not gotten any money or anything, to be honest," She shook her head as a young boy about the age of four stepped out and tugged at Miss Thomas' apron. "Yes, Mikey? I've got some customers here. Does mummy need anything?"
"No, mummy's fine," The boy with almond coloured hair beamed up at me. "Daddy's not. His cold's gotten worse. Why is this lady quite familiar?"
"Well, have you seen her anywhere?" Miss Thomas slid the card across the counter back to Jude as I tucked the two bottles of medicine into my coat pocket. There was only about three pills in each bottle, but it was enough. "Sorry." Mike ran back upstairs, as he screamed.
"No, it's fine, he probably mistaken me for someone else," I laughed.
"Are you his girlfriend?" Miss Thomas clucked behind the cash register, as she pulled out the receipt. "I mean, Jude every single time he comes here he talks about this girl called Sadie who's the sister of Mason Mount. Compliments shower over you a lot."
"Aww, that's kind of cute," I giggled as Jude inched closer to me, turning bright red. "Sorry to ruin your day, but we're not together."
"No, it's fine," Miss Thomas waved her hand. "Mikey, what've you got there?"
Mike was holding a picture frame - a really familiar one, wooden brown and a picture of a teenage girl and a teen boy standing together, locking their lips. I was about to compliment the girl, but when I dropped the receipt in shock immediately.
"It's daddy's," Mikey held it up for Miss Thomas as the old woman reached for her glasses. "I found it in his drawer on an adventure hunting."
"I-I..." I wanted to faint. This girl wasn't anyone, it was me. Me when I still dated James. Which meant Miss Thomas was James' mother, and Mikey was James and some girl's son. I gripped Jude's arm tightly that could give him a bruise. "J-Jude?"
"Are you okay?" Jude pulled me closer as Miss Thomas squinted at the picture and me closely. I shook my head as I bent down to pick the receipt, and he stroked my hair worriedly. "What happened?"
"Darling, t-this can't be real," Miss Thomas backed into the counter, shoving the frame back in Mikey's hands. "James can't be back. Your daddy's gone. He's gone for another girl. Your stepdad isn't related to you."
"I meant my first one," This child had obviously went through a few fathers, as he knew what his first and who he was. It was shockingly James, as a tear fell down my eye. Jude brushed it away, as he held my waist closely to him. "He left it in the house."
"Mikey, go back upstairs," Miss Thomas sent the little boy back upstairs as we both stood there pointlessly, turning anxious. "Now, mind telling me what's going on?"

We were invited into her house.
Fortunately, her name was Becky. And she was Mikey's new father's mum, not James'. But she wanted to know me and James' relationship before throwing the picture into the fireplace. Jude held my hand the whole time, tracing my scar gently with his thumb.
"Well, sorry for taking so much of your time," Becky apologised as I put down my teacup and stood up. "I expect you two to be heading home. You are welcome anytime here, even if it's nothing." We thanked her for her care, and climbed out of there as quick as possible.
"Y'okay, Say?" Jude hugged me tight as we got back to the rack, as I shook my head and cried on his shoulder. "There, it's fine." He put a hand around my shoulder as we sat at the edge of the rack, silently enjoying the view of the snow falling down. "You'll be fine."
"I guess so," I sniffed, as Jude stood up and huffed. "You need to leave?"
"Yeah," Jude slid down the rope and pulled it back. "You'll be fine, as I said. I might visit tomorrow, but might not as well. Weather says the snow's going down."
"Fine," I flung my boots back into the hotel room. "For now, I'll see you tomorrow."
